My train from Venice was delayed for an hour, which caused me to miss my connection in Florence and arrive two hours late. Even though I informed them about the situation and the trouble we were going through, they called me disrespectful, canceled my reservation as a “no-show,” and charged me a penalty — leaving me, my husband, and my son stranded in the middle of nowhere without a place to stay for the night. I am deeply grateful to the kind local people who helped us, but I would never recommend anyone to stay here.
