"The hotel was beautiful and luxurious. The room was fairly small but very nice and had a fantastic view. If you’re planning on relying on the train system, might not be the best hotel though, it was about 17 minute walk to the nearest train station."

"Hard to find it even with GPS! Due to traffic and bus lanes and a sign that is fairly small , not visible from the road from one direction until you are almost past its fairly narrow entry and has a berm hiding the entrance. It sits in a building with a huge red scotiabank sign on the side . I also found the tub/shower slippery with no grab bar or texture in tub. All else was really great especially water bottle and station , helpful staff, clean, comfy beds and linens, restaurant Starbucks in lobby"

"Good location and memorable hotel, but check food arrangements We stayed at Hotel Palace Royal as a family of six on our first stop in Québec City. The location is excellent — close to Porte Saint-Jean, the old city walls, Rue Saint-Jean and an easy walk into Old Québec, Château Frontenac and Terrasse Dufferin. The hotel has a striking internal atrium, and our sixth-floor room had an internal balcony overlooking the pool/restaurant area. The pool was a definite plus for the children after travelling. The main downside was communication around food. Breakfast was not included with our booking, but this was not made especially clear when entering the restaurant; we were asked for a room number and only realised afterwards that it was charged to the room. For a family of six, the buffet was expensive. Room service was also unavailable in the afternoon the day after we arrived, as the kitchens were closed, which was frustrating while still jet-lagged. It would have helped if food options, breakfast arrangements and nearby supermarket alternatives had been explained at check-in. Overall, a good and very convenient base for exploring Québec City, with a distinctive setting and useful family facilities, but food-service information could be clearer."

Cambridge Suites Hotel

"Stayed as a family for 3 nights (2 parents, one child). Teenager slept on the moderately comfortable pull out couch. Space in the suit was good, breakfast was exactly what we needed: It was simple and filing. Location was amazing, you could not ask for better. Plenty of parking in the underground lot (for an extra fee). Roof top patio was cute. We felt safe walking around the neighbourhood day and night. Recommend and will stay again. Observation (not a complaint!). TV is not a smart TV, and limited channel options. So many things to do in Halifax that it was not an issue, but would have been nice to have the option of TV at the end of a long day."
