Really nice hotel, slightly hidden away but at the same time very conveniently located in the city. Really helpful staff and a lovely room. We couldn't have asked for more.
It was adorable and great location. The service was excellent. Our charge, as we thought was about $100. But at checkout it was additional 90. We were told to "come, in it's free" regarding breakfast, it was not. Too much $ for breakfast.
We arrived for q30 and no one was there to greet us. No elevator. This is an air b and b not a hotel. Had to carry the bags up several flight. Cute place very clean, but would not go back. Location was very good. The signage is terrible.
Charming property with spacious rooms. Great location within easy walking distance to restaurants and sights. Best suited for people who can carry luggage upstairs.
Our stay at Clos Saint-Martin was wonderful, made so by Cynthia---she greeted us warmly and made sure that we had everything we needed each day, recommended restaurants and even gave us directions when we ran into her on the street. Breakfast each day was delightful and our rooms were beautifully appointed and comfortable. We would definitely return for another stay.
This was a lovely property within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and historical sites. The staff delivered a breakfast basket to out door each morning so that we could eat and then head out to explore for the day, and they also have breakfast in the dining room. We stayed in the cottage and there was plenty of room for 3-4 people. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely stay here again.
What a lovely place! Look for an email from the manager before you arrive with the gate code and parking instructions (otherwise arrival after dark can make it a bit hard to find the entrance.) This was a beautiful manor home with excellent care and service. The breakfast was fabulous, fresh and locally sourced. We loved it!
Such a wonderful gem in the middle of Caen… which itself turned out to be a very special town so worth the visit. Thé Clos staff was super friendly and helpful… Virginia is awesome. The room was so very charming, well maintained and roomy for our family of 4. Thé Clos location is ideal … close to the castle, the Abbey des Hommes and the old square / place with its wonderful atmosphere and restaurants. Do keep Clos Saint Martin in your very short list if your going to Caen…

Don’t bother
Hard to find because no sign on the entrance. No one was there to check us in, keys were left in a lock box. Had to drag our luggage up a two floors on a spiral stone staircase……
They billed me double for my stay. Expedia charged me then the hotel charged me again. Instead of just charging me for the mini bar. It was expensive but nice but double makes it excessive.
Property is very unique, I loved the traditional old architecture. Checking in was odd, had to wait outside the gate in the rain as there was no answer at first to the buzzer from the street. My greeting was not very enthusiastic, no help with bags etc., but they gave me a nice restaurant recommendation that I enjoyed thoroughly. I loved my room, very comfortable, great views, but there was no hot water. Breakfast was average.
This was a self serve Guest Hotel. We received an email how to access the property and our room and other than a staff person letting us in the door, we did not see anyone again during our stay. We were there only 1 night and did have to leave early the next day before breakfast. The Guest Room Directory did say someone would be at the property from 5 to 7 in the evening, but that was not true while we were there.
Our room was on the 4th floor, basically in the attic. The steps are steep and could be lethal. Unless you are a tiny person, you are constantly ducking the rafters and slant of the ceiling. One of the reasons we choose guest hotels is to get to know local people which we definitely did not have the opportunity to do this time.
