"We had upgraded to the superior rooms with partial Seaview. These are fantastic huge rooms. Super king bed, double sofa bed, Coffee machine, fridge (no minibar as Expedia ad). There are no dressing gowns included either (incorrectly mentioned on Expedia) and every room gets a bottle of wine, not an Expedia bonus . Air con worked well. Small balcony but nice. No real noise from nearby bars. Didn't have any issue getting pool beds at anytime. Swimming pool a real bonus. The beach is fantastic but think a greater discount for beds and parasol should be offered to hotel guests. Breakfast is, excellent a large choice and nice to be able to sit outside and eat it. We used the all day snack menu, good value and quality, but ate out in evenings most of the time. Entertainment in hotel a couple of times a week. The guy on Saturday's is by far the best. Uber is by far the cheapear way to get round. €17 from airport, €14 to Faro Old Town, €3 to Vilamoura marina and €23 to Tavira. Just note no inflatables in pool, seemed a few disappointed families who were unaware. By far the best hotel in Quarteira, could easily be a 4*"

"Very much enjoyed the two fine dining options and poolside terrace for luchtime food and drinks. Room on 3rd floor at the back with terrace but slightly disappointed as the garden onto which the terrace looks was not maintained to a good standard compared with other areas. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay which is the second time we have visited this hotel."

"Amazing property! We recently stayed at PortoBay Blue Ocean and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully maintained, spacious, and offers everything needed for a relaxing and memorable holiday. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, efficient, and completely hassle-free. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always attentive to guests' needs, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options available every morning. There was something for everyone, and the cakes and pastries were especially outstanding. The facilities are exceptional and very well maintained. The hotel features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, along with a relaxing jacuzzi area. The spa offers a great selection of massages and treatments, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind and recharge. One of the highlights of our stay was the evening entertainment. The live singing performances created a wonderful atmosphere and added a special touch to our evenings. Another unique feature is that PortoBay Falésia is connected to PortoBay Blue Ocean by a beautiful wooden walkway. The breath-taking ocean views along the path make every stroll a memorable experience and add to the charm of the property. The location is fantastic, with stunning coastal scenery and direct access to some of the most beautiful views in the Algarve."

"The reception staff were amazing - they were so attentive and caring. The facilities at the accommodation were perfect . The shuttle bus was a brilliant facility and we loved the beach club. Fantastic spot with great restaurants- close to airport and Quinta de Lago. We will be back!!"

"Lovely hotel but I can really see why it’s a 4 star! I was by myself and found staff to be very nice and polite. The pinch points were the bar - just hire more staff. There was always a queue. I didn’t go all inclusive but food and drinks I thought was reasonably well ish priced. The other frustration was I got put in a room in the corner which was a bit sad. I understand it was their basic room but it just lacked the luxury a bit. The local area and cute shops are worth the short walk into town - would highly recommend Botega Italiana - lots of veggie options. Lovely hotel but just lacks a tiny bit of refinement."

"We had so much fun! The water park was amazing, the hotel pool was fun, and they had a DJ. We loved the breakfast, and the activity room. The whole stay was perfect for our family."
Pure Formosa Concept Hotel

"Our superior room with a balcony was wonderfully comfortable. The small fridges in these rooms is a game changer as the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant ( although it does offer a cold buffet for breakfast) so stocking up with snacks for lunch etc is important. Olhao is a charming working fishing port with some good restaurants. These range from tapas to local vernacular through to higher end gourmet offerings. The front desk staff are good at recommending in form restaurants. The rooftop pool & bar is a great feature of this hotel. It affords panoramic views of the town and the islands of Armona ( great beaches a 10 minute ferry ride away) & Cultara. This is our fourth visit so we like it!"
