Only a short walk from the side of the road in the Catlins, you can easily visit both the Matai Falls and the Horseshoe Falls (in image). To get to the Horseshoe Falls, simply take the path that goes up steeply instead of the one that goes down. It's definitely worth it!

"Lovely place to stay. When we arrived, the property was very clean and looked newly refurbished, but the most stunning was the panoramic view of the ocean. Usually we eat out when we’re on holiday but it was so nice in the property that we went to the grocers in the next town and cooked for ourselves. Then walking along the beach just across the road. The sunrise in the mornings are a joy to watch. A few basic supplies were also left for us. Well done to Lisa for a most enjoyable stay :)"
