This is a nice boutique hotel on first appearances. But the facilities and service during our visit left something to be desired.
First of all, we were shown to a normal room when we had paid for a Junior Suite. When we protested, we were given the room we had booked, despite staff claiming no other room was available.
It soon transpired the room swap was because the hotel was having issues with the plumbing. We had no hot water in our room on the first day and no water at all for three of our four night stay. Attempts to rectify the problem were slow, despite complaints from the majority of guests. The problem persisted over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, by which time no plumber could be found. For almost £200 per night, one does not expect to be without a working sink / shower / flushing toilet. The staff were occasionally apologetic, but more often evasive and vague. The manager never showed her face, instead hiding behind desk staff despite requests to speak with her. We had to fight very hard for a 50% refund (which Expedia then returned very promptly).
It is a great shame, because the hotel has a lot going for it (location, roof terrace, courtyard, nicely appointed rooms), but our experience and shabby facilities means I cannot recommend this hotel.
