We stayed at this hotel for 2 days, the room was small but cozy. Just a few details that give it a 4 star, there was a stain on the bed and I found some hairs on the shampoo and conditioner bottles, not a big deal but not what you expect coming into a clean room. It was quiet and the parking was great, right outside the room. Would for sure come back

It's an online-only check in, but you need to find some other way for people to supply their credit card details for deposit holds. Supplying them over the phone to someone I've never met did not seem secure to me. The only other option was email, even less secure. The place itself is OK, quirky, different, comfy bed, good shower and superb toiletries. The digital door locks were annoying, you close the door behind you and it locks automatically - after a while - meaning that, when leaving for the evening, you need to close the door and stand around like a lemon, waiting for the auto-lock to kick in. But these are minor faults, we enjoyed our stay overall, apart from the absence of staff.

I walked in to my little room and was so pleasantly surprised!! It was very cozy and comfortable, with just enough amenities to make me feel at home. Wish I could have stayed longer, and will definitely be back!

I got this hotel at a last min. So the price wise, I am so happy. They recently renovated so it’s cozy, cute, new, clean and well decorated. This place is small enough so 1-2day trip. It will be perfect with small luggage. They try to have a good amenities as well:) shampoo, rinse, body wash, body lotion and soap. But the cleaning has a slight issue. My bed sheet was partly wet…. I saw some stains and waters … and the bathroom was so humid (just like someone just took the shower). Smells were kind of …. Anyway… But I was happy that they offered more towers and waters. So I can kind of use them on the bed for sleeping. Towers are fresh and well cleaned!!(it is little old so they have some holes) I can tell they really try to well maintain them… and they did their best! Overall I recommend!

Great property! The room was was clean and very functional for a traveler that needs accommodations. Lots of options for food and other needs. Highly recommend this. The House Keeping staff, Rosa was professional and polite and answered my questions. Other contacts were through the phone and always polite. Will come back again!

Very quiet (a little too quiet, perhaps ^^; ), easy to self-check in. Room was very clean had everything I need, bed was comfortable, great for a one night stay. Only thing is it felt a bit unsafe considering it was so wide open (no entry gate or any of that kind) and didn't see any security around. Plus it was off travel season so there weren't as many rooms that appeard to be booked. Other than that it was a nice stay for myself and my bird companion. Might consider coming here again, but may during a little more busy seasons.

We only stayed for one night. The whole hotel was empty when we got there at 7 pm. Initially my wife wanted to switch hotels due to it scaring her. We called the number listed and it was another hotel that doubled as an answering service for our hotel. The man we spoke with was less than friendly and would not give us our money back or let us change rooms even though the place was empty. We took off and went to dinner and when we came back there were 3 other rooms with people so we decided to stay. The room was super clean and the refrigerator and tv worked well. The a/c unit which was also the heater was noisy so we could not use it. Overall a very decent place to stay. It didn’t get 5 stars due to the a/c and service over the phone but it was a solid 4 stars!

Hidden Gem Near Solvang
Nice little gem. Cute Scandinavian interior design. Simple and minimalist but cozy. The bed had clean linens and it was plush. Great toiletries from Malin + Goetz, which is a higher end brand. The room was clean and it was close to the Buellton Wineries and Solvang town is so close a 7 min drive. The check in was self check-in. They send you instructions with a code to enter the room once you call them and give your card for incidentals. I was able to use their sister hotel gym that was a 1 min drive. Really nice gym with Olympic weights, rowing machines and everything you need for a good workout. Overall 10/10 and you stay here again!

Had to wait outside of property for over an hour because my room was not ready as promised. No lobby to even use a restroom after my 4 hour drive. Also no housekeeping. You have to get your own room supplies in a separate area

Simple and to the point. There is no front desk to check in with but there are staff responsive via text. The room was neat, clean and simple. Parking was right out front of the room. Honestly, just what we needed without the extra fluff!

Hotel Hygge Stay's smart lock system is great because it's convenient (no physical keys to carry), secure (changes access for each guest), and provides easy, contactless check-in, making your stay worry-free.

Nice hotel; horrible bed. Mattress sunk! I’m ok with the invisible contactless service, but was not comfortable giving my credit card info via phone! The person who answered the phone didn’t even give me the right hotel name. Had to go to Sideways to give my card info in person.

Neet place and unique
This is a unique hotel. There is no lobby, you get your room number and code to the lock via email. The rooms were very nice and clean. The grounds were very clean and had multiple games that could be played. A fire pit as well. I would stay here again with the knowledge of how the check in process works.

I liked the location and ease of getting to other places. My husband and I both loved the leisure areas outside of our room as well as the pillows, bed, and comforter - all were great! The only complaint we had is that the heater/ac was soooo loud we could not have it on while watching the TV without the sound turned way up or while sleeping so the room was very chilly when we got up in the am. Also, I think we still prefer key entry.

Very small room. We felt very cramped in the room. Bed was slightly larger than a twin. Bathroom tile pattern was enough to make anyone dizzy. The worse part was we received message from Hygge the afternoon of our arrival that due to the roads being closed around the motel we would have to park down the street. We arrived after dark and due to roadblocks it was difficult to find the motel. It was even harder for us to get our luggage from the car down the street, pass barriers and into the motel. We found that the road closures were due to a carnival/fall festival right out side of our motel door. Huge ferris wheel, rides, food vendors, a stage with 30 bands scheduled. If we had known about this we would not have booked this motel. We remembered in the morning that the sister hotel was the Sideways Inn. We walked to their hotel to see if there was anything they could do for us as we were very upset about the Hygge. The hotel manager was extremely kind and sympathetic. She saved us from having a dreadful vacation. We were able to move to their hotel, which was 💯 better than the Hygge. We would not ever recommend the Hygge to anyone!

Clean and tidy option for staying in the area. It's a bit rental meets hotel in terms of the hands-off check-in and lack of overnight staff. Clean and cute decor but we couldn't get the outside string lights to turn on at night to enjoy the sitting area. Also, the in-room AC unit is very loud. Otherwise, a modern, simple, low-maintenance option for lodging in the area.

Virtual check in which didn't explain so I received a call asking me to confirm terms and conditions over the phone without a link...had to work it with the hotel during sunset. Besides that, no breakfast, too low sink, extremely noisy air conditioning that I had to shut down, restroom sliding door is very thin and retract open, plastic like swelling pop noises every hour like little explosions. Overall, definitely not worth the cost.

Weekend Getaway
We love the location, it was clean and all that we needed. The bed was comfortable, nice hot water in the shower and lovely shampoo, soaps and lotion. The only thing was the hotel pipes make a lot of noise during the night. There is a lot of gurgling and weird sounds. I will stay again, it is a good value
