We absolutely LOVED this hotel. Alex the concierge in the VIP lounge was the best. Very accommodating and knowledgeable.
The view of the city from the balcony on the 10th floor was beautiful. Nice indoor pool on the top floor. Spent a little time in the hot tub.
The hotel is in the city center just a couple blocks from the old town area where there are many restaurants and shops. Around $100 lei taxi ride from the airport. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
This Intercontinental in Bukarest is a great hotel close to the city center with nice rooms, a great view and a excellent service. But the hotel is somehow outdated and you can see the signs of use in many areas. The breakfast is great.
This is at best a 2 or 3 star hotel. Unfriendly staff, old furniture in the rooms, poor wi-if reception and dirty bathrooms are only some of the many problems. Good breakfast though. We have stayed at most of the better hotels in Bucharest and this one is not one of them.
As usual for intercontinental group it’s always wonderful, only concern was the amount when I booked it and when finalizing was different as I had to pay extra amount they say it’s an extra charge which I don’t know for what and nothing was clear so it’s kind of cheating I felt

I booked a Monday to Friday stay via Expedia and for some reason the booking turned into two reservations - Monday night and then Tuesday to Friday. This caused quite a lot of issues and it was extremely difficult to get through to Expedia to discuss it. Also on checking in at the hotel i was told i would have to check out on the Tuesday and re-check in. More confusion. I did this and was simply issued with a new set of keys.
The property is in a good central location close to the old town. The room i stayed in (a club room) was large and pleasant but i could not control the air conditioning and the room was often chilly. I didn't find any information about the hotel services in my room or for example a room service menu.
The bathroom was fine if a little dated.
The club lounge had great views being on the 21st floor but the offerings were limited. There is a 'happy hour' in the evening were alcoholic drinks are available but not non alcoholic beer. There is also a small variety of food available at this time. Compared to other club lounges I've been in this one was average at best.
I was charged around £30 for a late check out of around 3 hours and had some issues trying to settle my bill AND still have access to the room.
Overall an OK hotel but nothing special. Not really 5 stars in my opinion.
The hotel was our favorite spot to stay in Bucharest. The breakfast, especially, coffee, was the best in town. We had to request room change due to slow A/C. Due to pandemic, atmosphere and condition are not idealistic now. Possibly, under staffed. Unfortunately, we had to reserve other hotel on the way back home. Maybe, by the next year, it would bring back the old glory. Then I will re-book there.
The hotel room had an amazing view but that was about all I liked about it. The carpet on the hallways is dirty, room furniture is old and the hotel needs renovation. It's supposed to offer 5 stars quality but it does not.
Try to take a shower, waiting for hot water for 10 min and …nothing! It’s nothing else to say, I’m sure you can fill the rest of review.
This hotel/rooms looks like 1980 , very smelly and old furniture
