"This is a no frills motel on the outskirts of town, but it well maintained and clean. The rooms seemed to be recently renovated and there’s an exhaust fan in the bathroom with tile in the shower. I had the option at check in to pay in the loonie or the US dollar on my card, which I appreciated."

"On checking in the clerk was able to provide us a main floor room as there is no elevator to second floor and neither my husband nor I would be able to lift our suitcase upstairs. It was appreciated. The property had charge stations. We were able to use the station first night but second night the equipment was not working. That was very disappointing."

"Although the exterior is run down and the interior dated, the bed was comfortable, fridge worked great, and the bathroom had shampoo, bath soap, and hand soap. I had dinner at the attached restaurant and it was basic but well done."

"Our room was renovated, so that was nice. A very lovely view of the water! And a nice area to take the dog. A few minor things like broken screens (so we couldn't open the windows), loud bathroom fan, and broken picnic table in the yard made it look a bit rough. The person at the desk when we checked in kept yelling at the staff. He seemed unhappy."

"Clean room, comfy beds. Good amount of space. Only downfall was the coffee machine was tiny and the pot handle wasn’t situated on the pot properly. There were no facecloths in the bathroom and the shower refused to give hot water, despite leaving it running for over 5 minutes!"

"Couldn't ask for more. We've stayed at about a dozen different cottages in northern Ontario and Lakeside Cottages in Bruce Mines is the best. The beds are comfy, the price is reasonable, the cottage comes fully stocked (no upcharge for bedsheets like some places!!!), the kitchen is full and also stocked (salt and pepper and oil and coffee!!!), the cottages are clean and pretty, the view is amazing, the firewood is onsite and included (not $20 for a tiny bundle like some places...), reasonable canoe rentals, beautiful lawn and playground for the kids, and the hosts are so nice, great at communication! This is our second year visiting and we WILL be back!"
