I'd stayed at another B&B in the area last fall, and paid nearly double what I paid to stay at the Pleasant View. I honestly wasn't sure what it would be like since the pricing seemed pretty low for a B&B, but I was definitely happy with everything.
The Pleasant View is nicely kept up on the inside - it's got a great, cozy feel to it and the dining area is bright, decorated nicely, and features several small tables. They've got a relatively new above ground pool , which sadly I didn't get to use during this stay, but I can definitely say it looked very appealing! The grounds are spectacularly kept.
I have two minor complaints about my stay here.
1) The bed had a nice quilt on it, which had a sign neatly placed on top advising guests not to place their luggage or themselves on it. That was a bit neurotic and made me feel as though I had to remove the quilt and quilted pillows before sleeping in the bed (which worked because it was really bloody hot while we stayed there) but yeah- that's just weird.
2) not enough large towels in the bathroom. 2 is great but another would've been quite helpful.
The owner is very hospitable, and amazing cook, and very laid back (other than the quilt thing). The 10% discount for returning guests is definitely a draw. The quietness of the area and the lack of light pollution make it a wonderful place to go to enjoy the nighttime stars.
I would definitely come back, and would recommend this to others.
