The place was in the perfect spot for the reason why we stayed but the bathrooms were disgusting and dirty ... Alot of stuff was broke. They was rubbish already in the room when we went in so it's hadn't been cleaned
I stayed here for one night over the weekend, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience.
The sofa in my room was completely unusable — it was basically just wood with no proper cushioning, making it impossible to sit on. It definitely needs replacing. To make matters worse, its awkward placement meant I accidentally got my foot caught on the corner, which hurt badly.
The hotel is located right on a main road, so it was noisy throughout both the day and night, making it difficult to relax or sleep. The curtains had large, noticeable stains, and the whole property felt quite dark and unwelcoming.
The bathroom was small, not very clean, and below the standard I’d expect for an average hotel. Overall, it felt more like a large, basic lodging facility with multiple rooms for rent rather than a place designed for guests to enjoy their stay or vacation.
I would not recommend this property unless significant improvements are made or prices charged are very lower than the market and you are on a tight budget, as otherwise it's not worth it.

Our experience with this Airbnb was incredibly disappointing and resulted in a complete waste of our booking fee. We booked this property for a planned trip, with an estimated arrival time slightly before midnight. Upon calling the host to inform them of our late arrival, we were met with an unwelcoming and inflexible response.
We were told that the check-in cutoff was strictly 10 PM, a policy that was nowhere clearly stated in the listing description or house rules. The host expressed clear dissatisfaction with our arrival time, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Given the late hour and the host's unaccommodating attitude, we felt we had no choice but to forgo our booking and return home. Cancelling at that point was not a viable option, resulting in a total loss of our booking fee and significant inconvenience.
While we understand hosts may have preferred check-in times, this specific 10 PM limitation should have been clearly and prominently displayed in the listing. The lack of transparency regarding this policy is unacceptable. Furthermore, the host's communication was far from courteous, adding to our frustration.
We strongly advise potential guests to inquire about late check-in policies before booking this property. The lack of clear communication and the host's inflexibility made this a truly terrible experience. We would not recommend this listing to anyone.
It was worse place ive ever stayed in . So dated ,not clean , holes in the bed sheets , sticky stuff on carpet. Shared bathroom was gross and smelt like smoke . Noisy at night from other rooms so got no sleep.

Basic Old Guest House
Cleanliness was good. Room was very small. On a main road 10 mins walk to Ashton Gate.
Basic hotel. Quite expensive. No toilet on same floor

Does what you want
When you book a room like this you want to sleep, wash and go. The Clift Guest House is clean, the beds were good, our reception was helpful and polite. It's close to some decent eating places (and the football ground - great to hear a crowd!). I would rebook if I had the same requirements

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The reception staff was friendly and showed us to our room. The rooms are quite small with low ceilings. There was a kettle in the room and access to a kitchen. Although there wasn’t a lot of cutlery and utensils. The furniture wasn’t too bad, but the condition of the desk was not great. It was a good stay but I think the lack of free parking and the sounds from the main road made it hard to relax.

The property is quite at a distance from city center of Bristol. It's about 33 min walking distance. The room itself was nice and clean with all the necessary things needed ; but the kitchen left me very concerned as there was a dead fly on the cooking stove.

Nice people and very clean.
Old fashioned guest house. Nice people & very clean.
Good homely place to set up base, Leigh Woods and Suspension Bridge within walking distance, and the city centre is easy to get to.

Solo one night male stay
Had to call ahead as not 24hr reception to ensure someone available to book me in. Greeted by friendly staff member who carried my bag to room. Had single room at top house (think room9) with low ceilings. Clean room but bedding looked like from thrift stop. Breakfast not included in stay and didnt are anyone as left in morning at 8am.
