Château de Noirieux is a stunning countryside property with lots of charm and a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was spacious, well-equipped with upgraded Nuxe bath products, and had a very comfortable bed plus great storage. The staff was friendly, and we loved that it was pet-friendly — our dog and cat were even welcomed with a little gift in the room.
The château is well-situated near Angers and small towns, making day trips easy. The biggest drawbacks were the limited dining options (especially at dinner), lack of communication at check-in (we only later discovered hotel info was on the TV), and Wi-Fi that didn’t work during our stay.
Overall, this is a relaxing and elegant escape for those seeking a slower pace and beautiful surroundings, just plan meals in advance.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Lovely premises with good service a few niggles
Lovely place to stay, comfortable and good service newly refurbished just a few things not quite right yet. No mirror or dressing table in the room no chair or table or anything for clothes. Food expensive as Michelin but poor descriptions for English only speakers. No less expensive options and nowhere local so for a longer stay?? No lift but they do carry your bags for you. Outer areas still to be finished.
A beautifully restored set of buildings, some from the 15th century, given modern amentities and comfortable rooms. Lovely views all around. This was a 3 night winter stay and everything was pretty quiet - we may have been the only guests. A gastronomic restaurant was open Thursday evening to Sunday. High quality food, but quite expensive for every day. There is probably a layer of catering missing between breakfast and dinner. Nowhere else locally to eat (unless you go into Angers). We would like to return at summertime. Very friendly and helpful staff.
This is a very stylish hotel in every respect. A beautiful building has been sympathetically converted into a small luxury hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the extras such as towelling dressing gowns and lovely soaps shampoos moisturiser etc.
Dinner was the bistro menu and we could not have asked for a more delicious small menu, beautifully prepared and presented.
Breakfast was outstanding too, including homemade jams and the best scrambled eggs I can remember!
Our dogs were made welcome and they appreciated the extensive grounds
This place is seriously beautiful and may spoil me for more ordinary hotels. Gorgeous historic buildings and gardens. Our bedroom was very large with massive wooden beams across the ceiling. Calm and pristine cream decor. Very modern bathroom with beautiful ceramic handbasins and walk in shower. The breakfasts are of excellent quality and the dining facilities are exceptional though very formal. The heated outdoor pool is large enough for a reasonable swim and in late September I had it entirely to myself. Lovely helpful staff. Staying here is a real treat.
We needed a stop-over near Angers en route back to the ferry in Cherbourg. It was a Tuesday night. The accommodation and setting are quite special, a beauty of a chateau just on the banks of Le Loir, lovely walk along the river and a heated pool for after. The bedroom was huge, the bathroom fantastic with a huge tub.
The main disappointment was the dinner. Billed as a great restaurant, must be Wednesday to Sunday because there we were in the Loire Valley and on offer was ‘spaghetti bolognese and cheeseburger sliders’! There we other options like Beouf Bourginon, but nothing imaginative whatsoever. We were actually shocked at the menu. The food was hugely disappointing, specially after 9 days of amazing food in and around Bordeaux. I would recommend this place only if you are going in high season and on a weekend. Otherwise the service is spotty and the food un-inviting.
