"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

"We spent a lovely night at the B and B.
Everything was perfect and they even left a G and T and beer in the fridge for us to enjoy and fresh milk in a jug.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the water piping hot.
The breakfast in the morning was lovely and our hosts could not have been more welcoming
We will return again"

"Clean room, very helpful attentive staff. The amenities were those expected of a b&b. Our only qualms about our stay was there was no offer of remuneration re: the boiler having broken down."

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Centrally located and walking distance to the town. Enjoyed my stay. Good selection at Breakfast and other guests were regulars which says a lot for the property."

"Only downside for me was no parking facility. There is a long stay car park near the theatre. A charge of £5 during daytime and free overnight. But you have to update daily at 08.00 hours. This is about 1 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Ours was a family get together and suited us being in the centre of town.
Would stay there again staff were friendly and very helpful.
Thank you Team"
"The service on arrival was pleasant and friendly although we did have around a 15 minute form to fill in on arrival with quite a lot information needed.
Our room was clean and tidy, had aircon and a comfortable bed. Shower/taps water pressure seemed to fluctuate for some strange reason, from not much water to a lot?
We had upgraded to the superior room but it was on the lower floor, so no views.
Being on the lower level was very noisy with lots of people walking past and even cars going past.
Then at around 5.55 a.m we were awoken on our departure day by a faulty fire alarm in our room. Then up until 7.30 was constant noise from staff, things like glass bottles being disposed of etc.
We have had a home which had a fire so the fact that we were woken like that really wasn't nice and the continued noise. We have four children so to have a lay in is what we really wanted.
We had breakfast which in all honesty we have had a lot better, food quality and portion was ok.
When we complained regarding being woken up, the staff member said sorry the fire alarm had a fault. For us health and safety with a hotel should be paramount and couldn't believe what we were hearing.
We also complained to Hotels.com and they have been very unhelpful. They want to give us a small credit for the inconvenience.
The morning was ruined and we left the hotel in a very anxious state.
In our opinion the Hotel/Hotels.com should have fully refunded this stay."
"Staff were brilliant, rooms have been let go from a maintenance point of view. Food was tasty but very over priced, especially the breakfast. Would have made a complaint if I’d had to pay £18 for that had it not been included with the nights stay. Drinks reasonably priced though."
"Spa very good, restaurant service good, staff pretty friendly. Booked 3 hotel rooms, one overlooking golf course had tremendous views, two facing a brick wall and lots of weeds pretty uninspiring. Plenty of parking and easy to find."
"Great place to stay. The staff were really friendly, the room was bright, spacious, super clean and all the amenities needed for an overnight stay. We ate dinner and breakfast both meal times provided a great choice and tasted great. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area"
"Super friendly staff and great public spaces, great location. What little food I tried at the bar was excellent. The only thing that inconvenienced me a little was the lack of a mini fridge in the room. Mind you, it's an old building. Would come back."
