Everything was brilliant, there was nothing we disliked. The room, the service, the food, the wine were all the best, with the "add-on" of a tour of the vineyard. Fantastic!
We had an amazing stay .The general manager , Francois and his team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cater to all our needs. The food and service was excellent and the attention to detail was excellent.
We had a wonderful relaxing stay. The service was impeccable, I really can't rave enough as to how wonderful it was. The meals were prepared with fresh ingredients, delicious and visually appealing. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. We look forward to visiting again.
Staff excellent. They even cleaned my car without asking which was a lovely surprise as the car was very dusty after lots of off road miles. Very comfortable place to stay. High quality. Accommodation old Victorian style but spacious and high quality. Fair trade business who genuinely care about the product they are selling. Staff are treated with the same principles and are valued in the Jan Harmsgat business.
The staff at JHG were incredibly friendly and made us feel very special. As surprise for our honeymoon the room was beautifully decorated. We will definitely come back to this beautiful and peaceful place.
Overall a very nice experience. Only negative is the location next to the road. But it was not as noticeable as I would have thought and I'm quite the anti noise pollution type of person.
Good food even though they tried a bit too hard and dishes were a bit over worked. But plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity.
We stayed with 3 children for 2 nights and got a couple of very charming and spacious rooms adjacent to each other.
The staff greeted us immediately upon arrival. The chef came out with a delicious description of the dinner he was preparing. The walk to our 'house' was through a grape vine arboretum past the pool. The house was charming and well appointed. The dinner (extra cost) was well worth it and we had a wonderful breakfast. The dining area had a lounge area that was just right for after a relaxing after dinner drink.
Andere Epoche. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das ausgezeichnete Restaurant. Die Küche ist schlicht sensationell! Dies zeigt dich beim Abendessen wie beim Frühstück. einzig WLAN hatte so seine Probleme.

This guest house could be so much better
Beautifully situated hotel, it would have helped if they had alerted visitors to the closure of the road from Swellendam! The piped music in the restaurant was somewhat irritating particularly the breakfast selection. The staff were friendly but the service at dinner was extremely slow. We felt that there was nobody there with enough presence to be alert to enough to see when things were going wrong.
