This is a humble, low-key homestay rather than a hotel, but it is an excellent option for travelers on a budget who want to explore the caves.
Pros: The location is peaceful and away from the loud main avenue, but still walkable to everything. The room and bathroom were clean, the AC worked perfectly, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool looked clean with a great mountain view. The host, Cuba, and his mother are very attentive, sweet, and cooked a wonderful fresh breakfast.
Things that could improve: The listing mentions being highly eco-friendly/plastic-free, but there was actually quite a lot of single-use plastic around, including the bathroom amenities. The room has no fridge, no furniture to put a suitcase on, meaning everything stays on the floor. There was also a persistent ant issue in the room.
A quick heads up for travelers: The host kindly offers to book tours and cheaper bus tickets. However, the communication with his external bus partner was very challenging. At least in my experience… No official receipt was given for business expenses, and the bus station staff were highly unprofessional, leading to a very anxious experience where I almost missed my bus to Hanoi.
I highly recommend this homestay for an authentic, safe, and comfortable sleep, but advise booking your own transit if you prefer official receipts and selecting your own bus seats!
