Pleasant and convenient

Pleasant, well-situated on the edge of the IU campus convenient to university and town. Bed was large and comfy, staff was friendly and competent.

Upon arrival, we had a very low energy staff member assign our room. Upon walking to our room, there was somebody else already in it. We went back to report that somebody was in our room, and they originally told us they were booked, then after they went to visit the room, miraculously found another room for us. Overall, it was a very average stay.

We informed the manager, feeling uncomfortable and threatened by groups of people wandering around the property, pungent smell of marijuana smoke in the lobby, and in the hallways, my husband was intimidated when he went out to get a cigarette after we finally got into our room, parking lot filled. We had to wait for a half an hour for a spot the front desk attendant helped us and apologized. Blood stains on the floor in our room, the TV only giving us two channels.

The property needs a lot of help. The hallways smelled of mildew. The first room we had smelled of mildew and we were switched to another room that still somewhat smelled . The rooms just need updating and new caulking and painting and a better smell !

We stayed here for graduation weekend and I was very happy with the hotel and the service we received. I appreciated that the hotel did not require a 3 night minimum and didn't gouge the prices like many other hotels in the area. The service was very friendly. And a special shout out to the women that ran the breakfast buffet, they exemplified custoer relations - wonderful employees!
