The hotel and bedroom does not resemble any of the pictures on the booking website...in a bad way. There was a gap between the bedroom door and the door frame, meaning you could see out into the corridor, but worse, people in the corridor could see in! There were a few people staying, or trying to stay at the hotel who, sadly appeared to have fallen on hard times. However, this was no reasonable excuse for the scene created in the reception on day one, when one person, covered in pee, was seen arguing with staff, and another unrelated person, spat on the floor, also in the reception. My mum used to stay at the viking hotel every year and loved it. We came in memory of her and to spread her ashes on the beach. The hotel experience did put a bit of a downer on the memories she used to share with us about how lovely this hotal once was.
Investment and upgrading is long overdue.
2 people sharing a double room need 2 towels, not one to share...its not difficult to get simple things right.
On the plus side, the breakfast included was at least decent.
Overall, the stay at the Viking Hotel, as a whole, was not good value for money at £155 for 2 nights of feeling vulnerable, somewhat scared, and disappointed.
