Great place to stay and can even take your dog!
It was a cute rustic cabin, and it was so clean. When we got there we enjoyed all the amenities that were provided they gave us coffee to making the coffee maker, which is a sweet surprise. For my preference the beds were a little bit on the southside but I know some people like softer beds than I do. The owners are really sweet and very helpful. All in all was a great place to stay. And one of the only properties that accept pets.

Amenities listed were not accurate. I booked specifically for those. A 2 bedroom was listed, jetted tub, washer and dryer, pool table, iron & ironing board, board games, but it had none of those. I thought i was getting all I was looking for but got none! We were even asked to leave the pool early because the lights dont work even though the sign says 9pm. I got a small cabin with a loft. It had a ceiling fan so low that i had to keep my kids away from it so they don't hit their head on it. The pool table & foosball is not open to the resort, they only had a facility washer and dryer which were broken, the iron and ironing board had to be borrowed from the office. The kitchen had no curtain so there was no privacy. Our cabin also had a very old and dirty picnic table which was peeling away as well as wooden lounge chairs that we wouldn't use. Our cabin also didnt have a bbqer. When I brought up these issues to the office, their response was that I booked through Hotels.com which is a 3rd party so they don't have control over how their amenities are listed. They even said they've had complaints from others who have booked 3rd party. Well as a business owner, they should make sure it is accurate! I overpaid way too much for what i got and they are non refundable so couldn't go elsewhere. It was my first time at Big Bear Lake and wanted it to be a memorable trip for my kids, but i couldn't help but just want to leave!

I really liked the location, close to Boulder Bay, walking distance, and the property offered a lot of things. Fire pit, hammock, each cabin had their own picnic tables and parking. BBQ was available and they would bring them to your cabin. Only thing I didn't like was my neighbors, they were loud and very inconsiderate for other people. Property was Great.

Dirty beds, it was obvious they didn’t clean the beds from previous guest, black widow spider webs outside property near doors and windows, and the windows very dangerous unable to stay up as soon as I touched without any press goes dawn hardly beds were second floor no air conditioner we have to let the windows open it was extremely warm ,shower was dirty too, very bad experience.

Enjoyed ourselves and this was a great basecamp for activities in the Big Bear area. The cabins are pretty dated, but that adds to their charm and the experience. The staff was great and very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

Great spot. Had kitchen and 4 beds so our family of 5 was comfortable and could cook our meals at the cottage when we needed. The kids enjoyed the playground, horseshoes and volley ball net a lot. There was hardly anyone there which was kind of nice too. Pool and spa werent open yet but it looked like a decent setup and i would have enjoyed it for sure if it was. The ladies at front were both super nice. My wife rarely comments about how nice people are and this time she did both time and said "wow, the people at big bear are so nice". I recomend this place if your not looking for anything fancy but want a cozy cottage with the essentials.

Our stay was very good overall. Our family enjoyed the stay and would book again. Bring your own consumables: shampoo & conditioner, paper towels, cooking oil PROS: All rooms were clean, plenty of towels, everything we needed for cooking and serving food was provided, toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, oven & range, and full size refrigerator (Cabin 21), 32" TV with cable, four queen beds and a king size roll out couch gave our group plenty of room, great wifi, convenient access right on Hwy 18. CONS: The pool was closed until memorial day and the playground is rickety, no breakfast (plenty of places nearby). $50 fee charged at check in (described at booking but not added to hotels.com price.) Only some cabins have Jacuzzi tub (not a big deal for us). Stairs are small and narrow.

Charge hidden fees if you book through Hotels.com
As I've seen recently mentioned, they charge more per night if you book through hotels.com, etc. They say that it's an additional "cleaning fee". Apparently, they're saying we're dirtier than others? However, I work for a major hotel chain and I know that expedia, hotels.com, etc get paid a commission from the property for bookings they bring. In my opinion, they charge more at check in so that guest makes up the commission. Also, what we booked WAS NOT what we got. We booked a 2 bedroom 2 bath. We got a 2 bedroom 1 bath. Couldn't use the jetted tub because it was located in a room you had to walk through to get to the only toilet. Ceiling fans didn't work but if you opened the windows you heard road noise all night and kids screaming by 8am. Main floor windows and 1 back door sealed shut, most outlets didn't work so there were surge protectors and extension cords hanging from the walls. They advertise an outdoor and seasonal pool. They have 1 that wasn't open. Not even comfortable outdoor space. They offer a spa which I never saw and a cafe/coffee shop that is non existent. They actually just have 2 vending machines. Their pictures and description make it seem that there's a nice common area with pool tables, etc. However, the main office area is VERY small and has gifts to purchase. I was told that the owners live upstairs in that cabin. Spend the extra money and stay closer in town. Believe me, with hidden fees, etc. you'll be spending it here.

We do charge a cleaning fee independently of hotels.comblike many other properties. We are sorry if you did not see the disclosure before booking. Do Not Book on Hotels.com!
They charge you a lot more than it says on Hotels.com and they say the difference is a "cleaning fee" but it's not itemized on the bill. Wish we would have known that because we left the cabin WAY CLEANER than we found it. They basically flat out ignore whatever price you see on the Hotels.com website. Other than that, the "premium" bedding is a joke, our cabin smelled like pet pee and the cutting board in the kitchen literally had chunks of old dried meat on it. So gross!

The cottage was a little smaller than expected. The little table was wobbly with the legs getting in the way of walking around it. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

When we first arrived the office was closed, but the manager's phone number was posted on the front door, and she answered immediately. It only took a few minutes for her to come from one of the cabins, where she had been helping another guest, to check us in. The cabin was a good size, with a kitchen and bathroom. The queen size bed was comfortable, but my son's futon bed was lumpy. Overall the location is good, not too far from Big Bear and Snow Summit, where my son snowboarded while I hung around the Village, did some shopping, read my book, and enjoyed the weekend.

Cottage 27 Needs driveway repairs
The cottage driveway was too damaged to even park, we had to walk uphill through snow, water, and mud in order to access the cottage. The stove/oven did not work the smell of gas was so unbearable that we left the cottage door open awaiting office hours… The positives, the cottage was vintage and cozy (perfect for two), customer service was good, and maintenance service (for the gas issue) was prompt. It would have been nice to have been offered an alternative room/discount due to driveway condition

The ants were swarming the kitchen. The fireplace could not be used as it smokes. The worst complaint I have is I finalized on Expedia and the the property tagged on extra fees that said taxes. When I asked them about it they said it was a cleaning fee that they don’t include in third party sites. I am not a happy customer and will never return and will tell everyone I know.

Couch sunk in... couldnt sit on it...the bed was unbearable. We checked out after 1st sleepless night...could not stay another night in that bed. Ended up going home. Not a good weekend. They did not call back as promised to refund at least the 2nd nightcwe didn't stay. Will never go back there

These are very rustic cabins. The kitchen has some basic supplies but definitely mismatched and not enough utensils. Bring some plastic plastic utensils. We were in a 2 bedroom cottage (10) which had 4 beds, enough for 5 people- maybe 3 kids and 2 adults. There is a living room with 2 couches and a very small TV (19 inch?). The first night the toilet flooded and we had water all over the first floor. It was had to contact. This happened at 2am I tried the number on their website. And no answer. We found out in the morning that they post the managers phone on the door of the office. BTW office hours are strictly 3pm to 5pm. No early check-ins. After the first night disaster they were able to move us to 2 studios that are side by side. Not the most con but since it was a holiday weekend BBL was fully booked and no other options. If we had not paid for our ski lift tickets I would have just gone home. The 2 studios are also very rustic (I am being generous here)-old and drafty! Even the toilet seats are old. They are the painted wood type that are badly faded. My child refused to sit on the toilet even though I cleaned it. If you like to recapture some wilderness, turn on the century immersive experience, come here. If you want some decent up to date decent accommodations- look elsewhere .
