Terrible
Terrible entrance, very u comfortable bed, extremely noisy. Price was same as other properties nearby. Description and 2,5 stars was misleading. Entrance via back door surrounded by garbage containers, stone is terrible. This area seems to be used by restaurant and other businesses located in the building so as you can see how clean this is. This will be your experience entering every day. This is not acceptable and owner should clean the property

Great Location !
Location was very good , close to the central & the central station & transport services. This website tells you they have a elevator - Its not correct , there is no elevator and has steps. Can get a little noisy at night because of the pub downstairs but if you have toured the day well - you will get a sound sleep at night ;-) Very basic - but good for price you pay ( location is Key)

Good deal, wouldn't stay again.
Convenient, cheap place to stay with handy amenities! Older building, and it didn't feel incredibly clean (I would have liked shower shoes in the bathroom) but worth it for Bergen! Quick, easy check-in. Next time I'd spring for a slightly more expensive room with a view of something besides the alley and dumpster. Keep in mind: no front desk, so you absolutely cannot store your bags there before check in at 3pm.

Be honest and call it a hostel
WRONG HOTEL. 2 half-rolls of toilet paper for the entire 4 days. First time I had to purchase my own toilet paper in a HOTEL stay. No staff present whatsoever, so if you have trash you have to take it out to god knows where.

This hotel has no reception and need self check in. However. Check in instruction arrrived in e-mail ahead of time so there’s no confusion. The location is excellent in Bergen, within short walk to train station, harbor fish market and city center. Rooms are very small and needs some updating, but very clean. Not bad the the money. But the main complain was that we booked a triple room for three persons, and only got a double room with an extra foldable bed, not like the triple room pictures in website. The room was so small that after unfolding the bed, there is no extra room to walk and cannot even open closet doors. Worst the foldable bed was flimsy and kept collapsing throughout the night , not to mention potential for injury. The most basic thing to be expected should be a decent sleepable bed, especially when we have requested and paid the price for it.

Room type not the same as booked
I booked a so called "City Loft with 2 bedrooms" for 3 people. I was given a studio with an extra bed instead, which is tiny and cramped, and there are no bedrooms at all. The management is extremely hard to communicate with, and we couldn't change to another room.

We asked for a room downstairs as my wife is nearly blind. So what we get is a stair case of two floors up, and then a room with a stair up to the bed. The bannister of the stair is wobbly also. There was no information to say the room we ordered was like this, and absolutly no consideration to our request.

Apartment is tugged behind the restaurant but location is great. Two levels and a one bedroom with a staircase to go up to the room. It's basic but comfortable.

Not what I expected at all
It took us one hour to find this place. It was impossible to find. The building looks like a burned out war-zone location, incredibly depressing. There is no one there, we worried about security. The beds and sheets were fine and clean, but the overall room and building was incredibly depressing, not what I expected at all for an Expedia listing.. Overall I give it one *, only because the beds and sheets seemed fine.

Not as it says on the tin!
In total we stayed at the Bergen budget apart hotel. 1 night with a twin room and a further 2 nights several days later upgrading (that was the intention anyway) to a 2 bedroom double beds city view loft apartment. The 1st stay was basic but clean and to the rear of the property, so little noise. The instructions to get to the property were however poor. On the return our "2 bedroom city view upgrade" was horrific! Not 2 bedrooms as bought and paid for, not 2 double beds, not a city view, a tv that was merely decorative, no kettle, no storage for clothes, shelves hanging off the wall, a front door that struggled to lock and an array of shouting, singing and fighting outside the front of the property until 4.30am both nights. Quite the stay! I called the manager who was perfectly pleasant but could not assist of explain the discrepancy between the 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. I left it with him to contact the owners after the weekend as I fully expect at the least a large partial refund, however I am still to hear back. The location (if you can find it) is good and if you're on a budget then perhaps a room to the rear would suffice. However, I cannot recommend staying here and suggest you try the hostel across the road, which is manned and delightful. Extremely disappointed and awaiting a response.

Hi. Thanks for the review. Yes, we do not have a recpetion, as you did know at time of booking.. It is VERY easy anyways. You paid 40 USD less then any other room in the city, so we do believe the value was good either way.

Broken toilet, window wouldn’t shut, confusing check in with no one there. Should have been condemned by Bergen health authority. Only plus was it’s central location.

Hi James. yes, we are a selfcheckin hotel. As pointed out many times before checking in. All info was sent for you, and we know you succeded checking in without any problems. However, yes we had a toilet issue in that room. Got broken when you checked in, and since it was night time we did not have a janitor to fix it. We offered a free night stay, and also offered that you could stay for free at another hotel. We think by doing so, we really tried to go all the way to help you. Is that something we would do if we did not care? Sorry to see that no effort to help you has been appriciated..

Not a place to stay Too expensive for what you get
As soon as I get back home I am going to ask for a refund. I paid for a triple room and there was only bed for 2. The instructions to get to the apartment (it is not a hotel. It is an apartment building) were all wrong. We spent more than 40 minutes trying to find the place. All because the instructions they sent were wrong They put an extra bed but nothing more far than comfortable You should exclude this option from the list Trying to solve the problems we found out other people had problems too

Affordable apartment close to public transport
Wonderful communication and easy to access from the port or the bus/rail station. Nice kitchenette if you want to cook simple meals and they provided soap/shampoo. Perfect for a short stay in Bergen!

The good news is excellent location in close to downtown Bergen. The bad news is downtown Bergen right over a heavy metal death metal Norwegian rock bar that stayed open till 330 in the morning. We were wondering why they gave us air plugs……

Could not check-iin.
We arrived at 7am but end up only able to check-in at around 9am. The self check-in system does'nt feels working . Ended up stranded with no room. Was only able to check-in after calling Expedia for help. Not a really good experience.

Hi Grey. Thanks for the review. Check in at the hotel, is as other hotels around the world at 15:00, and if arriving that early we might not be able to check you in.. The check in process is very easy; we send a email with all info needed and if not able to fix it, it is just to call us. We fix it, not a problem :-) Welcome back at another time. Great price, clean and affordable and in the middle of Bergen city center.

Hotel close to transit
This place is nothing fancy but worked for us for one night. Low price, had all that we needed, even had a kitchen. We had two large problems though. #1. The hotel wasn't marked well on the street (we ended passing it, turned around, found the hostel location and later found out we needed to go to a different location which appears to be a restaurant from the exterior). This was very confusing in the rain and dark. #2. The hotel did not send us the code needed to get in to our room (self-service). Our phones did not work in Norway so we had to find a complete stranger on the street to let us borrow her phone to call for help. This was completely unacceptable! We were stuck outside in freezing rain with no way to get into our room. Very frustrating. Once we called the hotel, they were very helpful and the room worked okay for us, but it was just a very unpleasant 30+ minutes wandering in the cold that could have been avoided by them doing their part by sending the code and giving clearer instructions about how to find the hotel.

Veldig rent,sentralt. Men to køyesenger i metall uten fjøler i sengene,bare tre metallstenger som gnaget inn i kroppen gjennom tynne madrasser. Ellers er eg veldig fornøyd. Men de sengene må de ordne,min rygg som er ødelagt fra før tåler ikke dette. Så jeg tok to madrasser oppå hverandre ,det hjalp litt. Lett og finne frem og ellers fornøyd. Kommer gjerne tilbake. Du får - sådan nogenlunde - det, du betaler for
Bergen Budget Aparthotel ligger centralt, men det gør det meste nu i Bergen. Sengene var rigtig gode og jeg havde både køleskab, ovn, 2 kogeplader, elkoger og spisegrejer til to. Dejligt med muligheden for at lave sin egen mad, 3 point for det. Soveafdelingen er en hems med et fjernsyn, der ikke vat slået til, ingen fjernbetjening og den ene sengelampe var væk. Et tagvindue, der ikke var nogen mulighed for at lukke, gav lys og udsigt til bygningen overfor. Varmekilden, der så ikke var nødvendig under mit sommerophold, sad kun fast i den ene side, toilettet var klinet op af væggen. Man skal sidde på siden af det, men altså: det vænner man sig jo til. Der var også en hårtørrer tilgængelig plus rene håndklæder, sæbe og ørerpropper. Internettet var stabilt, men alt i alt kan man ikke se at værelseret skulle være istandsat i 2017 eller også var det i 2015. Men nem tjek ind og ud, så hvis man mangler en god seng og gerne vil lave sin egen mad, så er Bergen Budget ApartHotel da et godt valg
