The lobby area was well lighted and cool and the staff was professional and welcoming, but when we got onto the elevator to go to our room on the second floor, the doors closed, and the lights went out. I was stuck in a non functioning elevator with a young child, two small dogs and all the paraphernalia that entourage needs. When the door did open and we were able to leave the elevator, I had to make it up to our room consoling my granddaughter, carrying a dog who previously had a heart attack and can barely walk on level ground without collapsing. I had to make several trips to get all of our stuff to the room climbing in a sauna of a stairwell to a sauna of a room. Not once did anyone offer to help. Not staff. Not guest. Did I mention I am eighty seven years old? During our whole stay, which granted was one night did we get one "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I realize this was an unusual event, but even so, with a corporation like HIG, some common courtesy should be extended.
