A hidden gem

This place is a hidden gem located far from big city life. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room was large and clean. The highlight was the breakfast with more than enough delicious food to start the day. Thank you!

Welcoming and very easy-going staff, very clean, good warm shower and the facility is well kept overall. The surroundings are picturesque and very calm. Their restaurant is just couple of minutes away and is a gem. I highly recommend to go there for a dinner you will not regret, the food is just delicious. You will have your breakfast in the same place and the breakfast itself is a special event. Free parking with plenty of space. Great place, thank you for a nice stay.

Very nice experience! big, clean and confortable room. No receptionist and difficult to contact the accommodation to get the key. Quiet place in general but just Little noisy early morning because the scouts were meeting just beside our window! Breakfast is in a separate restaurant nearby and delicious !

Excellent as always

Always love staying in this hotel, particularly because of the fabulous breakfast and excellent restaurant. Only issue we had is trying to get in when we arrived, it's not easy to ring when the number is German and we only have an English mobile. Please provide a WHATSAPP number for people to ring, it is much easier. We will stay here again.

Very good place to stay

Friendly place. Wifi wasn’t working in our room but they sorted it out. There was no curtain/blind in our room so I hung a towel over the window. The restaurant Lindenhof is about 250m away and fabulous. We ate dinner and had breakfast there. Outstanding. I’d return just for the food here. No tea/coffee in rooms but there’s a kitchen where you help yourself to tea/coffee/snacks etc.

I stayed for 1 night, traveling alone for a short sight seeing trip of the region. I loved this hotel. It was a little hard to find. I loved the park-like setting around the Abby and the cemetery/memorial garden. Had to wait a few minutes to be let in, and the hallway was dark when I got back from dinner. The building has a different feel since there is no front desk, it was very quiet and peaceful. The room was basic but clean and lovely. The bathroom was small but also clean. Breakfast at the restaurant nearby was great. I had dinner there too and it was delicious. Service at the restaurant was very good. I felt far removed from my regular life, it was a wonderful little vacation.

Amazing stay, friendly staff, delicious breakfast!

We had a great stay at the Gästehaus Abtei Sayn. The staff is super friendly. When we told them that we are driving down from London so will be checking in quite late , they made arrangements without any hesitation and made sure that we are comfortable and gave clear instructions on how to reach there and get the keys. The room was spacious and clean in a beautiful location. Very peaceful and calm. Breakfast is down the road at the nearby cafe and it was delicious. The table will be ready by the time we arrive with coffee , bread basket, fresh juice, crumble , chocolates and smoothies. Cooked breakfast order will be taken in once we settle in our tables. This hotel deserves a gold star! We felt the whole experience amazing and would love to go back again. Regards, Reni and family

Das Gästehaus Abtei Sayn ist idyllisch gelegen, am Ende einer ruhigen Straße. Unmittelbar vor dem Haus finden sich zahlreiche Parkplätze. Für Sportler mag interessant sein, das sich der Waldkletterpark Seyn in fußläufiger Entfernung befindet. Leider findet sich in der Nähe nur ein Restaurant. Es ist sehr gut aber hochpreisig. Dort können die Abteigäste auch frühstücken. Das Gästehaus verfügt über keine Reception. Den eigenen Zimmerschlüssel findet man in einem Namenskuvert im Tischkasten vor dem Gebäude.

Das Personal war super freundlich und vor unserer Ankunft gut telefonisch erreichbar. Wir mussten vorher unsere Ankunftszeit mitteilen, was aber problemlos funktionierte. Wie beschrieben, handelt es sich um ein Gästehaus und nicht um ein klassisches Hotel. Dennoch konnten wir gemütlich und ruhig schlafen. Das nahegelegene Restaurant, das zum Gästehaus gehört, bot ein sehr gutes Frühstück. Insgesamt waren wir äußerst zufrieden – im Vergleich zu einigen Hotels ist dieses Gästehaus erstklassig. Parkmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden, die Umgebung ist grün und ruhig, was für eine erholsame Atmosphäre sorgt. Ich kann dieses Gästehaus wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Ein Hinweis für Interessierte: Das Gästehaus befindet sich direkt neben einer Kirche und einem Friedhof sowie angrenzend an einen Wald. Für uns war das kein Problem – im Gegenteil, es war nachts wunderbar ruhig.
