Bendigo Loddon

Travel Guide

Melville Caves is a great place to camp and hike around. There are a number of vantage points, and you are likely to see a number of wallabies that hangout off the path near the lookout.

#GreatOutdoors
Maldon was designated "Australia's first notable town" -- I guess that's because of the many 19th century goldfields towns in this part of Victoria, this is the most authentic.
A short 10min hike from the car park and past the fire tower, brings you to a peaceful sunset vantage point overlooking the surrounds of Heathcote and Lake Eppalock in the distance. What your step as there are lots of small loose boulders. At dawn/dusk there are quite a few Kangaroos and Wallabies jumping out in front of you on the drive in also.
One person dragon from the Bendigo Easter Parade (2013). One of many traditional chinese dragons on the march in this long parade each Easter Sunday. It's a reminder of the town's gold-rush past when many chinese migrants worked in local gold mines.
Mount Alexander has some amazing places to test out your climbing skills outside. The climbs range from some easier ones to a few of the more difficult like the one in my photo!
