Quinta Das Lagrimas

Quinta Das Lagrimas

8/10 Good
"Beautiful hotel and very attentive staff. Room was very clean and good amenities. Breakfast was plentiful and well done - can order custom omelets as part of the buffet. The dinner restaurant was posh with fancy cuisine that could have been tastier. Would go back but would go out for dinner instead. The hotel was ver convenient and in walking distance to the University of Coimbra and other historical attractions."

Hotel Astoria

Hotel Astoria

10/10 Excellent
"Where do we start. This was a fabulous hotel. Everything we expected and hoped for. Sonia looked after us from the moment we arrived and we could not have wished for a better host. If you want a modern hotel with square rooms and satellite TV, this is not the place for you. Keeping the style of its initial build 100 years ago makes this place very special from the opulence of the residents lounge, the ship like dining room and the rooms which are old but well cared for. We were fortunate to have a room facing the river with large balcony doors and air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional. We dropped one star on the amenities only because it would have been nice to have a bar. To be fair there is an honesty bar but its not the same. Deserves all 5 stars overall and we re already looking at dates to return."
