"The staff was generally helpful. The photos shown on Hotels.com were misleading. If the reception area pictured actually exists I don’t know where it would be as the entire motel is a old style one story drive up motel. “Reception” is basically the gas station/ convenience store in front and you have to wake someone up if you arrive late..The front of the motel was overgrown with weeds. The door to our room was dirty and needed painting as did the cabinetry under the sink. The shower curtain was too long for the tub and shower and was very mildew stained at the bottom, probably because it can’t dry properly. We also needed a plunger one night at 9:30 pm and never got it. With some TLC it could be a nice vintage motel. Right now not so much."
"Everything was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. I was there for a week and completely lost, and they all had helpful advice on things to do and places to go. The room itself was comfortable enough for both working from home and relaxing"
"Our room had a noticeable smell to it, and there was a cockroach in the middle of the floor when we woke up in the morning. The lady at the front desk was nice, but it was confusing because there’s two comfort suites directly across from the parking lot from each other. Overall, the hotel just didn’t seem clean."

6/10 Okay
"I’m not a normal multiple night traveler where I stay more than one night so I don’t know if this is now common practice. I stayed two nights and my room was not cleaned after the first night."
"Owners/hosts could not have been more friendly or helpful. Delicious breakfasts each of the 3 days we stayed. Incredible views from back deck and brief walk to Bee Rock Overlook. Our room was furnished with beautiful antiques. Very comfortable bed and bedding.
We enjoyed visiting Muddy Pond Mennonite community. Ate a great lunch at The Front Porch General Store and Deli. The Appalachian Center for Craft in nearby Smithville had an interesting gallery and beautiful handmade items in the giftshop."
"Only 1 Ice Machine was working but that 1 did work well. The Receptionist at our check-in was very polite. We had a jacuzzi room and it was very enjoyable. The pool area was nice. The biggest issue was the breakfast, served 6am to 9am. At 6:30 There were about 8 other customers and us waiting for the breakfast attendant to bring out more food (eggs and sausage) as some had already eaten what had already been served/set out and we were told it would be quite awhile. We waited around for about 20 minutes and still nothing got replenished. Unfortunately we had to leave for our next destination without a sustainable breakfast for the 8 hour drive ahead."
