We loved it. The George is so warm and welcoming (as opposed to perfect & swanky). The landlady was very friendly and eager to make sure we were happy and that attitude ran through all the staff who were all very kind. Dinner by the river was a highlight. The village doesn't have a lot of entertainment but it's charming and you can while away some time feeding the ducks at the castle (the shop sells duck feed).

Last minute booking at the george lovely hotel with fab breakfast in a gorgeous village. We had the cheapest twin room but hadn’t realised the bathroom was accross the hall from the room when booking. It was okay as we were only their a night. Breakfast was good also would recommend just don’t book that room .

The George is a really cute historic inn that is situated in a quiet, magical little village - it is literally right across the street from the ruin of a Norman castle. While you need to leave town to get to Frome or Bath, the bus stop is located right outside the inn. It has a friendly little pub that serves good food and is frequented by guests and locals. The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were basic but clean. There is no air conditioning but we had a fan which was adequate. It felt like a step back in time! We loved it and would gladly return.

Room was clean. We were unable to stay after we booked in and paid. The weather that day was extremely hot and the room we were allocated was in the top of the building. We told the staff that we could not stay in the room as the heat was extreme and the fan did not help as there was only a tiny window that opened. The member of staff showed us an alternative room but this was still very hot. The member of staff said she would contact admin the next day with regard to a possible refund, to show goodwill but they did not get back to us until we emailed yesterday, saying they would not make any refund. We would not recommend anyone to stay in this Inn.
