a good pick
Postcode of the hotel took us to a wrong address. Luckily, the kind lady drew me a map and directed me to the right location. Thanks to her. Too many stairs to climb and with heavy luggage it was harsh. Without an air con or electric fan, the room feel stuffy. Otherwise, location is great, handy to all tourist attractions. It is a good pick!

這酒店環境優美房間舒適有齊基本用品，想去這酒店最好是要自駕遊，酒店有充足車位，如果是坐火車或巴士要預留時間，在聖誕節去的話公共交通是沒有，整體很滿意。

No air con at all
The outlook of the hotel is good but the room is pretty awful. No air con, lift is out of order and small room.

This is a great hotel to stay in... close to but not in Bath. Its old world charm is lovely, with high ceilings (and the occasional wonky floor!). Leave the car at the hotel and take the bus from the river bridge into Bath. Dining options are excellent with a buffet-style full English breakfast and a range of dinner options.

We booked this hotel and our money was taken But then we got a call from the hotel stating they couldn’t take the wheelchair and it was late then and we had no where to go how dangerous

Nice enough place, just a little shabby around the edges. Staff on check in were efficient but not very chatty. Room was at the top of the hotel up narrow stairs, clean and comfortable just needs updating. TV worked well, internet slow. Ate in the restaurant as a solo traveller, the dining room was cold, but the food was okay and the staff again were efficient but not very chatty. Had 1 drink in the bar, needs updating but staff friendlier. Near enough to Bath but nothing much else around the hotel so you will need to be able to drive and be happy with the dining options

Pretty location in a grand house
Great for our 2 nt stay to join up with family after Xmas. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment but it smelt lovely! Room very nice and comfortable with wonderful view.

Nice hotel with character
Nice hotel. Great service. Close to Bath. The charm of a hotel this age easily outweighs the shower water pressure or absence of mixer taps that some people have commented on. Focus on the building and great service and you will have a great stay.

Exceeded our expectations
What an amazing location. Took a long weekend here and so glad we did. Upon arrival, the gentleman on reception was what you would expect from a top London hotel as he was brilliant. Gave all the necessary information we needed on the hotel, treated us as individuals and not as other chains do with all the insincere platitudes. We'd asked for a quiet room due to a sleep disorder, in our booking and were given a top floor one with lovely views down the valley. The super king-sized bed was so good that we had the best night sleep in ages and almost missed breakfast. That too was good. Went into Bath that evening for dinner but parking was a nightmare as was trying to pay via app so we went back to hotel. Glad we did. Food was perfect as was our waiter. Thanks Limpley Stoke Hotel and all your staff for making it a memorable stay. We WILL be back.

The staff were rude, the hotel was in the middle if nowhere and we were advised there wss no food options on one of the days due to christmas parties. This information was provided the day before our stay and there were no alternatives nearby. We did not stay for this reason and had to find alternative accommodation

Full of character
A lovely old hotel full of character, set in a rural location albeit a short drive into Bath. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only issue was the bed was not very comfortable for two and the extractor fan in the bathroom was not very efficient. Having said that would stay again but pay a little extra for a better room

The property had an old mansion feel and charm. Room and bathroom were spacious. Beautiful view from my window of the front lawn and the surrounding area. Food in the restaurant was good. The kettle for tea and coffee was a nice addition.

If you are looking for a generic hotel with power showers, bells and whistles then this isn’t for you. We love the quaintness of old buildings but they come with quirks ... our shower had a personality of it's own. Lovely big room with views. Food was fine but breakfast choices rather limited. Bed would have benefitted froma mattress topper. Lovely location. Friendly staff. Would use again.

The reviews mentioned the rooms being dates and bathrooms smelling slightly damp are true, but it’s not the end of the world and the rooms are clean comfortable. The staff are really friendly and the bar and open fire are nice. The downside for me is the fact the doors and walls are paper thin and you hear ever conversation, creak of floorboard, vacuum and cleaners shouting to each other. Apart from that it’s a nice hotel.

If you are looking for a truly beautiful property to stay at, please consider this hotel. The staff are marvelous and so accommodating and helpful. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the views are breathtaking. What a wonderful way to wake up in Jane Austen country.

Lovely stay
Good: Nice, clean room and helpful staff. Nice breakfast with good choice. Less good: Walls are quite thin - take earplugs in case you get noisy neighbours. Tables in bar area are very low - difficult to eat at…… book a table in the restaurant instead.
