This property has been recently refurbished; it was done very well. We appreciated the numerous electrical outlets and updated facilities. The location is convenient for walking to numerous attractions. My only reasons for 4 stars overall are the very small rooms (I know, it’s typical of European city hotels.), lack of a kettle and refrigerator in the rooms, and the ridiculously small sink right beside the bed. The cleaners must hate that sink because it is impossible to use without water going all over the counter and wall. In our room there was a hanging chair which could be replaced by a small refrigerator and shelf with a kettle. The staff was very helpful.

This hotel was in the Barrio area. Small streets, just like North Africa, but wonderful feeling, people were friendly, and it was very close to Rambles and Port Vell. Good choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant neighborhood, especially its proximity to the Gothic Quarter. However, there were a few aspects of the room that could be improved. The sink placement was inconvenient, causing water to splash everywhere. Additionally, the mirror was positioned too high, making it difficult to use. Lastly, the proximity of the toilet to the bed was uncomfortably close. Overall, while the location was fantastic, some adjustments are needed for a more comfortable stay.

Friendly and helpful staff members (Ramon is the best!), walkable distance to most of the places, very comfortable room, supermarkets and beautiful cafes nearby, and happy people! The only thing is that after 9pm, be careful with the area. We were chased by a young guy into the small streets of the area. There might be some theft issues. Be careful!

Great Hotel.
Amazing hotel, so nice, clean and comfortable. So chic too. I loved the interior, the location is great, not on a busy area but great connections and I walked everywhere from the hotel. Would 100% book again. Only negative was the service I received :( My room was too hot and I couldn’t work the AC, I politely asked if they could help me, they said they would but never did.. Overall, I would definitely definitely definitely book again.

The staff was amazing and the location is fine but my biggest complaint is that I was mislead into thinking there was parking available (the Expedia app says so) and instead I had to pay 44 euros to park overnight in a very tight parking structure. I was not expecting this and it should be clearly noted on the Expedia website. Also, this hotel has a clear glass door for the shower and bathroom so only stay with someone you are absolutely comfortable with watching you poop.

cute hotel for couples
lovely boutique hotel in an old but renovated building tucked away in the winding streets near the gothic quarter of barcelona. very friendly staff. the room was small but fine for two people, although we could have done with a slightly larger shower or better ventilation at the very least. the bed was ok but not attached to the headboard. walls were pretty thin and we could hear other people moving about the hotel. nice rooftop space.

I was shut out of my room and almost had to spend the night walking the streets. Staff go home at 9pm and no one in the premises should things go wrong. The room entry system is just plain ridiculous and doesn't always work. Bring back keys or cards,

A great little gem
The hotel is right in the centre of the city close to everything inc a metro Staff are super helpful, rooms are small and quirky, but we loved the vibe of the room. If you are staying with a friend in the same room then I can see they could be problems with the frosted shower door and the door for the toilet, but as a couple it was no problem. Roof top garden with a hot tub which you could book our exclusively for an hour was also great after a long day of walking round the sites. We have been to Barcelona many times and this is by far the best we have stayed in for the price point.

An amazing place that is well maintained and within walking distance of so many things I clueing metro and busses. The entire city is accessible with only 10-15 minutes of walking with major bus routes and metro stations nearby.

The only thing that could be faulted was the size of the toilet. I’m 196cm and found it difficult to fit in the small cubicle.

This is the place!
If you’re looking to stay in the gothic area this is the place. Historic hostel that was completely remodeled into a fantastic boutique hotel. Well appointed rooms with all the comforts. Quiet location so you can actually get some sleep on a comfy bed. Attentive staff available 24 hours. Lovely terrace on the roof to chill. Cute area next to check in desk to enjoy complimentary teas and coffee or purchase an espresso or snacks. Bonus points for their little bag with a delicious piece of sweet bread and an organic apple juice.

The hotel is lovely and quirky, but what really made our stay fantastic was our interactions with Gerry, one of the tea. At the front desk. He went above and beyond to make the final leg of our honeymoon as special as can be. Thank you!

Excellent location-easy to walk around ElBorn Bari Gotic Picasso & to beach Room small but u get used to it We had big balcony on second floor Loved it Staff great. Negatives no outside food and no eating in room. They should change this also not sure of summer comfort as no AC in room but we did not need it Opened door! Would book again 9 rating!!

The perfect choice for a romantic weekend
Our stay at Amfores was more than expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful.The room was small but clean and cozy.The aircon was doing the job keeping the temperature down. The area where it lays is just perfect although the hotel it self maybe a bit hard to find. Close distance to the gotic area and sheltered from the noisy streets.The roof terrace has a beautiful view and is a calm and perfect place to end the evening. We will definitely visit again!

An old building has been renovated in modern look, but it has functionality issues. For example, room is small and the big bed (queen?) allows just room to walk around, leaving no space to open luggage. In the tiny toilet room, knees and elbows touch the walls, no space. Surface to put things are scarce, not even a rack to put the hand towels. The worst was the lack of air (fake windows) and not AC with approx. 90 F degrees. Hallway was dark. Employees were super nice, but it was hard the situation. It seems there are other rooms with windows and better equipped in this hotel. So good luck.

Fantastic service and extremely helpful. Location was great - walking distance and surrounded my public transport. Only thing is the window doesn’t open unless you call reception. A wonderful find.

Terrible choice. No AC/fan, windows were locked, making it impossible to sleep. Staff unlocked our door and entered the room without knocking or announcing themselves while I was changing after a shower and my husband was napping. The lock to our room was broken and our belongings were not secure. Two females were in the room outside of ours continued their post-bar party on the patio with guests, ( we also heard them tell the guys they previously had our room and complained about the lock to staff, therefore were moved to their current room.) I called the front desk multiple times throughout the night to request they ask the girls to turn down the music or go inside their room; however, staff was unreachable. We wanted to ask staff for a refund because of how terrible the stay was, but had they even had confusion on whether we had paid anything at all prior to check in, ultimately getting out of there was worth more than the stay.
