About the room, very nearly perfect! Spotlessly clean and maintained that way. A good shower, comfortable bed, and a desk with roll-around office chair where you can pound away on a laptop, keeping up with correspondence and mapping out the days activities. A cook-top, frig and sink are included, but I used the neighborhood coffee shops/bakeries and restaurants for all meals. It was completely quiet on the 8th floor even with the Bangkok traffic going night and day on the street below. A nice, mostly unused pool on the roof, with a gym and laundry facilities. The location was very good, too, within easy walking distance of the sky-train and subway, (which opens up all of Bangkok), Terminal 21 shopping center and a dozen good little restaurants. Close to Soi Cowboy, if you're into that nightlife scene. I've never been treated better by hotel staff. Friendly and efficient, with real kindness. During my two-week stay I took ill with a very sore throat (Bangkok pollution doesn't help). I was having trouble swallowing and feared it was strep. One call to the front desk and in 15 minutes they had an ambulance at the front door, (crew of four including a doctor!) Bumrungrad International Hospital fixed me right up with tests and medications. When I returned to the hotel the whole staff expressed their sympathy, even bringing me flowers, a fruit basket and extra water. The desk manager escorted me to my room. I truly felt at home at Citadines 23 and I look forward to returning.
