「We were just staying here overnight on the way to our destination. It is a basic hotel, but exactly what we needed. I don't think I asked for the handicapped room, but that is what we got and that is okay. No issues with the room. The bed was nice. The breakfast choices were okay. I got the biscuits and gravy which was good, but there was not fruit or cold items such as yogurt or eggs. It would have been nice to have that. Otherwise, it was a nice night.」

「I had a business trip to La Grande and wanted a hotel with character, this place takes you back in time, before you were born to experience a great place like our grandparents would have found. It just happens to be in Union which was a short trip. So, if you want something different than the standard corporate hotels, you won't be disappointed.」

「Everything was clean and spotless - room and public spaces. We were always greeted by staff when moving around the building. The food and service from the Laurel was also excellent. My only complaint was that one of my beverages didn't taste good. The White Russion drink was made with something other than Kahlua. The substitute was horrible tasting. However, the hostess did not charge me for that drink.」
