The only person at reception was busy when I arrived, and he said he had to finish his task before he could attend to me, so I waited at least ten minutes to be checked in. He could have called someone else for help or at least asked if I wanted a drink while waiting / or perhaps a chair to sit on while waiting (I am 77 years old, and it was a very hot day). But what really got me was being called “dear” by the man who opened the door and by this man at reception. I may be 77, but I’m in good shape and quite active. I am not their dear. It is patronizing to address me like that - August and demeaning.
The bed is quite comfortable; the room itself is basic and tired - certainly nothing special. Plus it is hard to find - no one accompanied me to the room, and it was easy to get lost. Better signage is recommended.
