I like that they have staff 24/7 - it made me feel safe. The staff is great and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is near the hop on hop off bus line and near subway. Too bad the neighborhood is a little run down but I felt fairly safe. I did not go out at night.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Tier. The reception/front desk and housekeeping were fabulous. The elevator really only could fit one person at a time which I’m sure is common for the area. There was a store next door that we visited daily. When walking near the hotel I noticed men sleeping on the sidewalk, however I did not feel unsafe.

The location was great and close to everything so you could walk to the main sites. Staff was super friendly and very helpful and of course they all spoke English.

I’d love to recommend this hotel. The staff are fantastic and the breakfast delicious. The value for money can’t be beaten and our room was large and clean (with AC). It’s an old fashioned “pension” style place. However, please don’t underestimate the reviews speaking of the neighbourhood. It’s really bad. We travel a lot and can honestly say we haven’t seen poverty, homelessness or open hard drug use on this scale before in Europe or North America. It was heartbreaking. We didn’t feel in physical danger but it was extremely sad and uncomfortable. We gave up walking anywhere and took cabs.

We were told to shower using the hair shampoo and conditioner as there was no shower soap. There were only tea bags and no coffee sachets in our room. Also only one pillow for each person. The bathroom was VERY cramped and would be nearly impossible for a bigger person. However, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent price and location for central Athens, close to the subway station Metaxourgeio. You get a made-to-order breakfast too! The staff was very professional and helpful. Many dining options nearby, including our new favorite restaurant Balkana a few blocks away. The homeless people in the surrounding area are harmless - don't let that deter you from staying here. There's also a convenience store immediately next door for chips, pop, etc. Room bed was a bit saggy for me, as I prefer a very firm mattress. Window lock was broken (Room #402). Maid service is upon request, which was fine with us. Air conditioner worked very well. This hotel is a hidden gem for budget-conscious travellers.

I enjoyed my three night stay, it was in a good Location for Metro and Omonia Square. The staff were very helpful and the Hotel was kept very clean and tidy. No Bar facilities was a Letdown and the area wasn't very desirable, sometimes at night it had an uncomfortable feeling getting back to the Hotel.

The only thing bad about this hotel and our experience was the area it was in was not great. You will see some homeless and junkies. But other than that it was an ideal location for getting to sightseeing spots, and everything about the staff, food, and service was great.
