Absolutely gorgeous! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are immaculately clean. The pool is such a treat in Athens, and the rooftop bar with the Parthenon view is spectacular!
Wonderful stay. Excellent service from Concierge, at breakfast and housekeeping. Specially Mr Nicholas O and almost everyone at Concierge, And Spyros and Katerina at breakfast. Amazing view from the restaurant.
Terrific historic hotel with amazing rooftop restaurant that provides great view of Acropolis. Walking distance to all the major sites in Athens.
Staff was top notch, so helpful and polite. Fantastic experience!

This is a true 5 star hotel in the old fashioned sense. In every touch with customers the Grande Bretagne hotel and staff strives to be perfect and welcoming.
I particularly enjoyed the indoor swimming pool which is just adequately sized to swim laps. 14 metres. The views from 8th floor restaurant and bar is second to non. View over Syntagma Square, first row seats to chance of guards by Parliament, Lycabettos hill, and most spectacular view to Acropolis and the Parthenon, and beyond, the sea and Aegina. The staff deserves a special mention for being amazing and so helpful!
An outstanding experience from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The service, the friendliness, the people are outstanding . The hotel is beautiful and luxurious but the level of service and hospitality is really what makes it extra special.
Simply put: the most regal and established 5-star hotel in Athens and a must-stay for anyone who wishes to experiences elegance and luxury while traveling to this epic city. Dining on the rooftop is a lifetime treat one never forgets, with views of the Acropolis--and you are a witness to the history of humankind!
I stayed with my wife and 7-year-old daughter at the Grand Bretagne Hotel in Athens in March, and I can honestly say it was without a doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. Our suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. Although the rooftop was under renovation during our stay (according to their site, expected to end at 5 April 2024), we enjoyed every minute at the hotel, from the friendly service to the perfect location and the wonderful facilities.
From the minute you enter, the staff at the GB go out of their way to make sure that everything is done to the highest of standards. The facility itself, the rooms and all the extraordinary touches, the various dining venues -- all exceed the expectations one would have for a luxury hotel. Not the first visit and will not be the last... thank you!

Quality place, great location.
The hotel is stunning, the private butler service is fantastic, The rooms Are starting to a look at little bit tired and need some modernisation. There are often wine glasses and things being left on the small table outside of the rooms which clearly did not belong to the rooms. Not quite worth €1500 a night!

This is an iconic hotel and where I always stay when I come to Athens. The pool and the restaurant on the roof with the view of the Acropolis can't be beat! It is also in the center of everything and the staff are all amazing. This hotel is definitely in need of a major makeover, however, as the rooms are very tired looking and way overpriced for what you get. They probably have not been changed on over 30 years. I still love this hotel, but hope that they put some money back into soon!
It was pretty fabulous I give the staff 15/10 they were that good! From the doormen to the staff at the gift shop they were knowledgeable and always ready to spring into action. The doorman every time we get to the door had a nice word for us and direction to our destination, the concierge recommended tons of great restaurants for us to sample like locals. lol...The hotel smells so good I bought the lobby scent at the gift shop to bring home (ah sue me lol) We were able to enjoy jazz night Wednesday (very very good) the only thing the restaurant on the 8th floor was closed for renovation but we were able to go next door on the 7th floor bar for drinks and enjoy the view of the Acropolis at night a must see. I will stay there again next year.
