We arrived past office hours and i knew beforehand that our suite would be open for us upon arrival. However the door was literally left open about an inch, so the bitterly cold 33 degrees and snow weather was the same temperature inside. There's only one wall heater. On full blast we waited for 2 hours and it still didn't heat up in the back bedroom or bathroom. The sheets had hair in them and because of the coldness, the carpet literally felt wet. We tried to go to bed but it was so cold and dirty we actually packed up our bags and left at 11pm and drove home through the night. It was a total bates motel. We're not super fancy people but this was just dirty, cold and gross.

When we arrived, the property had no power and no Wi-Fi. They didn’t tell us anything about the Wi-Fi — I found out myself when I tried to connect and a screen popped up showing they owed over $500 to their provider. On top of that, there was no cell service in the area, and with a storm approaching the next day, it didn’t feel safe to stay. We ended up leaving because there was literally no way to communicate or get any updates. Even with all that, the hotel still denied our refund request. I can’t imagine a more valid reason for asking for a refund than showing up to a hotel with no basic utilities at all. Easily one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a hotel.

The better cabins are very beautiful. The suites are a room in a ~70's hotel building, they are not beautiful in my opinion. Look at the pictures closely. The resort is walking distance to Mt Rainier Park, you could not be closer. I will definitely stay in one of these cabins again, had a great time!

The bathroom toilet did not work. We had to leave the facility and obtain another hotel. We did not stay the night. Further, we were told that the hotel would take care of reimbursements, but we have not seen anything.

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our wedding. 1. Our cottage looked completely different from the photos, which was very disappointing because we planned to film the bride’s morning there. 2. The bed linens were extremely dirty — when we lifted the blanket, there were someone else’s hairs on the sheet, and it seemed like the bedding hadn’t been changed before our arrival. We had to sleep in our clothes! 3. The shelves inside the closets were dusty. 4. The chairs and armchairs were so old that everything wobbled. 5. There was very little lighting in the cottage — it was impossible to eat at the bar counter because you couldn’t see anything! 6. No Wi-Fi! There was absolutely no signal or connection in this area. We booked two nights, but we didn’t even want to stay for the second one and left for another hotel. Because sleeping in clothes on your wedding night is just awful! Such a beautiful place, but such a terrible hotel. We were extremely disappointed. 🙁

Yes, we reached the National park very well. We lost electric power at 8pm in our unit. We called the property manager, 5x, no answer. The office, front desk was close. The property manager not on site. 2 hours lost with Expedia, on chat and emails. The unit is durty, unsanitary. We have all pictures We got told by Expedia , that Gateway doesn't want to refund us, neither Expedia. Totally unaccptable from both ,Gateway Inn and Expedia. It is a shame for both.

The only good thing about this place is the location — it’s right outside Mount Rainier National Park, which made getting into the park super easy. Other than that, the stay was pretty disappointing. The floors were dirty, and I kept getting dirt or crumbs on my feet. There was dust everywhere and cobwebs hanging in corners, which made it hard to relax knowing there were probably bugs nearby. Every surface just felt grimy — I didn’t even want to set my stuff down. Dirt in every corner. Sink easily clogged. Water was lukewarm. When the maid came in to do daily cleaning, the soap was refilled however everything else just felt like there was bare minimum effort — when the maid made the bed, the comforters were just thrown over pillows that were all out of order to have almost just like completely the task of “making the bed” They say there’s WiFi, but it never worked once. Since there’s no cell service in the area, that made it tough to check the weather or look up directions to plan hikes. I get that it’s a remote area, but other inns nearby had working WiFi, so that was frustrating to see we chose the wrong inn. And the electrical situation was frustrating — every time I tried to charge something or turn on a light, something else would turn off. For example, if you plug in the coffee pot, the bathroom light goes out.

Feet away from the Mount Rainier National Park entrance. Highly recommend this lodge if you’re visiting the park. Self check-in was a breeze. No issues. Comfy bed, clean space, fridge, tv. Just remember you’re still in a remote location so no WiFi or cell service (not saying it was a bad thing). I would definitely stay here again if visiting Mt Rainier & recommending to others.
