This is a grand Victorian b&b, with a beautiful interior and plenty of historic charm. Innkeepers were friendly, and there are plenty of home comforts; coffee, tea, even cookies available to guests throughout the day.
We chose the Eastlake room and it was not particularly comfortable - mostly because of the noise throughout the night making it difficult to sleep - lots of traffic noise and sirens as it’s close to a hospital - but mostly the loud clanging coming from the plumbing or furnace - it literally sounded like someone banging on pipes with a wrench and the noise would repeat regularly through the night.
The check-in experience was strange - apparently we were the only guests checking in that day and were asked very specifically about what breakfast items we planned to eat and how many of each we would eat - I found having to decide how many eggs I was planning to eat the next morning a very weird question and the whole thing made the check-in experience super uncomfortable.
The coffee provided was excellent, and access to a Keurig was handy, The breakfast itself was disappointing - as a B&B (it’s in the name), I think more of an effort should be made to provide a fresh, hot breakfast for guests - rather than the buffet style packaged food you’d expect at a Quality Inn or similar hotel. This is the only B&B I have ever stayed in that didn’t serve a fresh, hot breakfast to guests.
The stay wasn’t bad, but I will probably choose a different b&b next time.
