The Grand, York
From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. I have stayed in many hotels but the Grand was the best overall by far. The staff are 1st class. Nothing too much trouble and the hotel and bedrooms were spotless. There is nothing that I would change.

The view shows the outer ditch and bank in the foreground with the inner ditch [moat] and bank beyond. The conical mound was the site of a windmill. The manor is thought to have been erected in the 13th century and was described as 'ruinous' in a survey of the estate in 1577. The site is on private land and there is no public access.](https://images.trvl-media.com/place/3000452764/ad4881a4-c4ac-46d1-8d24-2889737c72aa.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=1040&h=580&q=mediumHigh)
