We had a lovely stay here. The Gem was immaculate, the view from the back porch was stunning, the host was very kind and helpful, and there was pretty much everything you could need there. It’s a 10 minute walk up to the bus stop (if you don’t mind the chaos of the buses), and there are a couple of mini marts along the main road. A 30 minute walk away (off road) is Dis Ole House, which is a very vibey restaurant. Otherwise there just isn’t much locally. If you’re staying for the touristy things (we did), most activities are in Bridgetown. The buses are very cheap, but it’s an expensive taxi (about 45-60 mins). We would recommend renting a car if you do choose to stay here!

The Bottom Bay! What a jewel! A hidden, unassuming beach reveals all of the sudden to your eyes, unexpectedly!! It is a beauty of some heavenly symmetry! A treasure you will come to cherish and hold dear in your lasting memory. Add to it your morning view from the patio overlooking the silvery Atlantic and its stupendous waves whirling and churning right on the horizon. The house itself has been kept spotless. Clean tile floors and spacious bed. Frangipani and bougainvillea trees -unseemly - next to you. The hostess - Gemma - had been so gracious, willing to extend any assistance you might have encountered. And a seasoned conversationalist, indeed. Ready to capture her guests in a serious, yet intriguing, exchange. As she runs the place with skill and efficiency, her personality radiates all around. Chris A. Dec, 2024

It was uncomfortable having the owner checking if we have the AC off when we exit the bedroom. She was concerned about the cost of electricity. I think the money that I paid should account for electricity. If I leave my house for vacation and I pay to be in a place. I would like to be able to enjoy and feel free to use the AC as I wish. It was hot. I will not recommend this place to anybody
