Wilderness at the Smokies – River Lodge Suites

"I took my 12 year old son for a nice vacation to enjoy the Waterpark and lazy river. Upon arriving 2 employees were arguing and made check in awkward. Once in our room I figured out we were all the way on the opposite side of the indoor Waterpark. I went back to check in and asked if there were any closer rooms as I had knee surgery and they rudely said no you got what you got. I was shocked as I've been coming here for years and have never been spoken to so rude. I didn't want it to ruin our vacation so I put a smile on for my son and went to have some fun. The next morning I ran out 2 my car and when I go back to our room my bracelet wouldn't open the door. Thankfully my son was inside and opened the door for me. I then checked his bracelet and it did not work either! I hesitantly went back down to check in and thankfully there were different employees that day. I asked a lady why our bracelets were not working as we are booked for 4 more days. She checked and said she would just give us new ones so I wouldn't have any more issues with the old ones. The lady that helped me get new bracelets was so sweet and nice! I felt relieved and enjoyed our day! Until the morning of checkout I had the cleaning crew banging on the door at 8am asking if any1 was in the room??? I opened it and said checkout was at 11am! She rudely said well I was just checking! I have 2 text Out when i leave room. Thank goodness I just had to leave the bracelets in a box and not interact with anyone else!"

"The Park Vista hotel was excellent! While the building appears vintage from the outside, it is beautifully maintained on the inside. The landscaping and views are truly breathtaking. The room was the perfect size for both my husband and me. The staff was helpful with our questions and provided restaurant recommendations and suggestions for activities when asked. The trolley to Gatlinburg runs every twenty minutes, making the location both convenient and peaceful. The winding drive up to the front door was beautiful. The hotel’s restaurant was delicious— the mahi mahi was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth exceptional. They offered a wide breakfast selection, with options for everyone. The made-to-order omelets were excellent, and we enjoyed the friendly conversation with the chef. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the warm cookies upon check-in were a delightful touch."

"Staying at the Edgewater Hotel was a welcome respite, after staying several places in the mountains over the week. Our room at the Edgewater was larger than any other we experienced; the air conditioning worked very well; the shower was wonderful; the balcony over the river was enjoyed, and the mattress was perfect."
