Renoverat rustikt hotell i liten stad mitt ute på spanska landsbygden. Helt ok, men ingen sensation, accepterar hundar.
Charming, quaint but a bit cold when we visited in December. The shower was Luke warm and the plug in the sink didn't work. The food was very good. The bed was brilliantly comfortable.
This hotel is the converted residence of a rich family that likely made its money in South America. It retains all the character and if you ask the staff they can tell stories about the pieces - see the display in the pool room. We were the only guests at the end of the season and nothing was too much trouble. We had been advised that the hotel restaurant wouldn't be operating but the town is small and no local restaurant was open so the chef came in and cooked us a gourmet meal. If you do stay, make sure to try the restaurant. The rooms are large and full of character but the occasional small things need attention. The brand new manager is keen to address any issue and encouraged us to "test" the room and report to him. I anticipate that when the full season resumes in 2016 the small things will have been seen to.
Location is very much in the country..you will need a car. The hotel is quirki and interesting. Town is very small and 2 a day stay is enough. The hotel has a great feeling to it but at times just lacks that extra need when travelling. Breakfast was very basic...but just does the job. Great little resturant in the heart of town called "Villa Cortes"...great spainish food.
Excellent hotel with atmosphere and interesting rooms both public and bedrooms. Good restaurant with some flair, excellent breakfast. Lots to see in the town including a great castle and porticoed buildings
Once again we visited this excellent dog friendly hotel just off the A67 autovia on the way back to our house in Cadiz province. Would highly recommend.
Firstly this is a dog friendly hotel just off of the A67 from Santander ferry for those stopping en route to the south of Spain. Sumptuious surroundings and luxurious room and exquisite food in the beamed dining room. Would highly recommend a visit and am certainly returning. Trisha Sheppard
