"Great location in Amelia Island. Easy walking distance to the stores, and the harbor to take a river cruise. Breakfast was excellent. Very impressive. I will be back in a future trip to the area."

Florida House Inn

Florida House Inn

8/10 Good
"The Florida House Inn has quite the historic charm. If you are looking for modern amenities other than air conditioning and indoor plumbing, this is probably not the place for you. If you want a nice quiet getaway with some very rich (over 150 years) history, then this is the place. The Green Turtle Tavern, right next door, has live music on weekends so it is a little loud until 11pm Fri/Sat and 10pm Sun. If that’s not on your getaway punch card, again maybe not for you. We had a fun time sitting on the front porch, with our own cocktails, and people watching. You can also sit down on the back patio around the mermaid fountain for a slightly quieter get together. You can also make friends with the resident kitties if they will allow it. If you know cats, you know what I mean. The black cat, Mama, is the sweetest. The Mermaid Bar is open, inside, until 10ish. The restaurant, Leddy’s Porch seems to be a locals favorite spot for Sunday Brunch. The food was great AND you can get unlimited mimosas (or Bloody Mary’s I think) for $15. The fried green tomato BLT with homemade ranch was so yummy. My husband got an omelet with sausage and the sausage was phenomenal! Homemade and so tasty! There’s also indoor and outdoor seating. That was nice. Especially with the change of seasons coming, it would make for a beautiful Sunday out. We had a small issue with linens when we got there but the staff was very accommodating and courteous. We will definitely be back to visit."
