We had a wonderful stay at La Principessa! The staff are attentive and friendly, the facilities are exceptional, and this part of Calabria is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely recommend staying at La Principessa for your Calabrian getaway!

This property is beautiful, clean and safe! Our only recommendation would be to have a shuttle (we were there late June and shuttles didn’t start until July) to take guests in and out of the nearby towns.

The hotel was fine and the staff was very helpful. We were traveling by train, however, which severely limited our options. The hotel is south of Amantea; there is no bus service and access to taxis was extremely limited, especially since we were traveling preseason . There is a restaurant on the property but none within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel but only if you are traveling by car.

Out of season stay!

Nice complex, our visit was out of season so tough to truly judge. Geared towards family stays in summer. Very loud, some event was on night of our last stay. Firecrackers etc woke us up. Room seemed to be right above hall or kitchen very loud until at least midnight both nights. Not full service at this time, all amenities needed to be pre arranged. Beach access was closed at this time as well.

It fell short of my expectations for a 4-star establishment. The hotel’s condition was disappointing. The room furniture looked outdated and cheap, the blankets were old and worn, and the TV was tiny for a room of this category. To make matters worse, the door lock didn’t work, and I found a ashtray full with cigarette butts on the balcony. The WiFi was free but incredibly slow. As for the restaurant, it initially made a good impression with its inviting ambiance. However, the pasta I ordered arrived cold and undercooked. I had to send it back, but instead of removing the dish entirely from the bill, the manager only offered a partial discount, which didn’t feel fair since I couldn’t eat it. Later the receptionist removed it all. Breakfast was very simple. On the positive side, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made the experience a bit better. Their professionalism was a highlight of my stay. Overall, the hotel and restaurant have potential but need significant improvements to meet the standard of a 4-star rating.

Beautiful resort and a short walk through a tunnel to the beach. There is very limited dining (one restaurant on site and one at the resort next door). There is no where else to eat and without a car, you are stranded in the middle of nowhere. If you don’t have access to a car, I would not recommend this resort strictly because of limited options for food. If you have a car, this would be a great resort to stay at.

Beautiful hotel, however we stayed there in the month of May prior to the busy season and the hotel appeared not completely ready for “few guests” during the week. We had issues with hot water in the morning… often only getting lukewarm water… Staff was working hard and long hours…
