Colleton house

Due to a issue with Poppythorn cottage we were moved to Colleton we were advised of this prior to our visit via text. Very good communication throughout our stay. Staff were so helpful and quick in responding to our queries. Stunning location, we stayed for 2 nights, wish we had booked for longer! Cottage was extremely clean inside, a few weeds outside but not a big issue. Perfect and secure for my Dog. 5 minute drive to Alston where there were a couple of the pubs open and nice gift shops. The nearby waterfall is worth a visit. I would definatly return.

Cottage in need of a complete overhaul. The carpet in the living room has a huge burn in it from the log burner. Surely this should have been replaced rather than a rug thrown on it hoping people wouldn’t see it. Holes in the bed linen, a smoke alarm hanging of the ceiling with electrical tape on it holding it on. En-suite in bedroom smelt of sewage when we arrived. The garden area is overgrown with an old gas bottle thrown in the undergrowth and the hot tub water looked cloudy and needed changing. Bins were overflowing on arrival so had to leave rubbish by side of bin. Come on guys you need to spend some money on this cottage as it could be beautiful.
