I fully understand your frustration. The service you received was obviously not our usual high standards. All our menus are cooked to order, and we always encourage guests to notify us of anything that is not as expected so we have the chance to correct it. Please rest assured your feedback will be passed on at management level to be reviewed. We hope to see you again and provide you with the experience we pride ourselves on.

The Hogs Head Inn was a great place to stay. The rooms were large, check in was easy and the restaurant had great food. Our only complaint was that the hallways did have a clear cigarette smoke smell, but that was not present in our room. The bed was a bit hard for our liking but that is not to say that it was bad. We had a great stay and would recommend to others visiting the area.

The room was ok dreadful lighting so quite dull. That’s ok but breakfast not good no natural yogurt and quality not expected for the price! At the price paid expected much better quality all round

Excellent food. Spacious and clean room. Staff friendly and welcoming. Car parking on site. Room was noisy from A1traffic and pillows were a bit too firm!

Definitely recommend
Room was very comfortable and well kept. Restaurant on site was awesome... breakfast was top notch. Staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our one night stay as part of a larger work trip.

This is a nice hotel, however it isn't in Alnwick it is in the service area on the A1. Even so it wasn't too noisy and my room was out on the end of the wing closest to the road. Food was very good with a wide menu for meat eaters. Vegetarian selection was very limited and unimaginative though which is a big shame. Room large and comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Altogether a good hotel.

Found the Hogs head inn to be very spacious with attentive staff, check inn was quick & easy, our room was very clean with a comfortable king size bed lovely clean bathroom and large bath. The waitress was very polite when eating in the evening and there was a good selection for the buffet style breakfast. All in all a great stop over for exploring Northumberland.

Just what we were looking for
Had an excellent 3-night stay. Room including ensuite was clean and modern, king-size bed very comfortable and nice powerful shower. Food was very good with a number of gluten-free options, staff were very pleasant and attentive to our GF needs. Dog-friendly throughout. Situated in industrial estate on edge of Alnwick and next to A1but that shouldn't put you off, area actually quite quiet and just 5 minutes by car from centre of town. Really enjoyed our stay and would go again.

the property and the staff where very good . check in was easy . ideally situated for Alnwick castle . although at the side of the A1 it was quiet . The rooms where large an well kept in good order . the food in the bar was excellent and service was quick even though busy. negatives only minor TV was too small for the room a bit of an odour probably due the the dog friendly nature of hotel ? breakfast was a lots of choice a buffet breakfast. Only disappointment was some of the produce was bland and could have offered something a little higher standard ideally local produce . we will use the chain again as on multi location trip it was the best value for money

This was a very friendly place to stay. The staff were helpful and cheery. The Sunday lunch was delicious, as was breakfast. I would definitely highly recommend the Hog's Head

Mixed Bag.
Accommodation was great. Sadly there were not enough staff for the restaurant/bar, so service was often slow or with inexperienced staff not knowing what to do with either the lovely manageress trying to sort them, or the grumpier male manager who needs a few lessons in hospitality! Food was ok when it eventually did come out. They've made an effort on the menu but quite often up to an hours wait for the main course after starters came out quickly. Staff rushing past dirty tables, so not quick at clearing up. A shame as the restaurant let the accommodation down. The pictures are taken from advantages angles. We could see the A1 from our window and could hear it. Coming from a built up area this didn't bother us at all but might others. Accommodation clean, modern and comfortable. A few great restaurants in town but being right on the edge you really need to drive.
