The Plaza Hotel is a decent place to stay in Almaty. The rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast is good but not amazing but as it’s a buffet I’m sure there’s plenty there to satisfy everyone. It’s not the most central hotel but the area around is safe and the river makes orientating yourself in the city quite easy. Get Yandex Go the ex-Soviet equivalent of Uber and getting around costs next to nothing and is very quick and efficient. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! It’s a very good hotel.

ein Alptraum, nicht zu empfehlen

mir hat das Hotel aus folgenden Gründen nicht gefallen: 1) sehr laut. Durch die Fenster hört man stark befahrene Strasse, sodass man nich ruhig schlafen kann 2) sehr unbequemen Betten 3) unfreundliches und schlecht ausgebildetes Personal 4) am Frühstück waren Spiegeleier kalt serviert 5) Das Dessert im Bar war nicht frisch und überteuert 6) Ausstattung abgenutzt und nicht zeitgemäß 7) keine stabile Interbetverbindung Egal ob geschäftlich oder urlaubsmsmäßig unterwegs ist, hier bekommt man keine Erholung, sondern nur Ärger

We enjoyed our stay at Plaza Hotel. Staffs at the reception were very helpful and cheerful. We are very impressed by the work of the housekeeping team. They did a very good job in keeping our junior suite clean and tidy. The location is slightly off the main attraction but it has the most beautiful view of the mountains and the perfect sunrise. We highly recommend visitors to stay at Plaza Hotel. Thank you for having us in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This was one of the best hotel stays of my 2019, which includes a couple dozen places. I cannot comment on other hotels in Almaty, but you really cannot go wrong with this hotel. The breakfast, the rooms, and the members of the staff are all delightful.

Every time I travel to Kazakhstan I take this hotel. There is a free sauna, a great way of relaxing before the busy day.
