Perfect value for money

Best value for money hotel I’ve visited. Lovely terrace and a bigger room than anticipated. Very helpful staff that made us choose our next location in Alicante with BeAlicante. The huge terrace overlooks a beautiful church. Picture on terrace taken from the Milagrosa breakfast terrace. Easy 5/5

This is the nicest place I’ve stayed in Spain in terms of ambiance, food,,and comfort. The rooftop patio with buffet breakfast made it justifiable price wise for a couple on a budget. It is perfectly located if you like the beach, being close to Castle Santa Barbara and the famous promenade.

Wonderful Stay

My stay was great… I arrived earlier than planned and my room was ready. Jorge was very nice and showed me how to get around the city. The rooms are spacious, calm and the bathrooms are quite clean and modern.

Great location in old Alicante, perfect for walking the sites. Next to a large church whose bell tolls each quarter hour and popular, so can be noisy in daytimes. Recommend you don't drive to there, as a nightmare to find..Special mention to Jorge, extremely helpful

So first of all, the rception is at a different property across the street. I have a bit of an issue with it as i am a solo female traveler and was hoping for some more safety features. The room doors don't have peepholes or chains given that this is a separate building. Wifi spot is on the 3rd floor so if you are on 1st floor, you are s?!* out of luck. In my first room on the second floor when i needed a repair, the scheduled technitian was 45 min late for his appointment and it took about 4hrs to swap out a TV, which at the end didn't even have the feature which was originally broken. There is no sound barriers. When anyone above flushes their toilet it sounds like your room is flooding. Any chair movement in the enteire building is like someone taking a fork to a chalk board. The buildings main entry door slams shut and you can be sure that you will be woken up every night throughout the night. Building next door has construction and the jackhammering starts by latest 8am

Ett dygn i Alicante

Vi köpte en billig hotell natt i Alicante för att utforska stan lite närmare. Vil5 har ett utmärkt läge i gamla stan nära till restauranger, barer, museum och hissen som tar dig upp till borgen på berget. VIL5 är obemannat men all service finns i hotellet tvärs över gatan, där sker även incheckning och frukost. Frukost kostade 10.50 euro, den var rätt så standard men helt ok. Frukosten serverades på takvåningen med en fin utsikt över borgen och stan. Ute terrassen var inte öppen under frukosten av okänd anledning. Vi fick dock gå ut och titta när vi ätit klart. Parkering skulle finnas tillgänglig, det gjorde det inte, men vi hänvisades till en gratis parkering i närheten. Lyckades få sista lediga platsen. Kvälls livet i gamla stan var mycket trevligt trots att det var en tisdag kväll. Massor av uteserveringar var öppna trots att vi var där i februari, det var en ovanligt varm kväll. Väldigt mycket lika mat på menyerna men med lite tålamod så hittar man säkert något som passar för de flesta.

Nach unserer Zugreise brauchten wir ein günstiges Zimmer für eine Nacht. Zimmer sind schön, jedoch hellhörig. (Dies ist wohl in ganz Spanien so) Man bekommt das ganze Geschehen im Treppenhaus mit. Check-In und Frühstück im Gebäuse neben an. Kleines Buffet auf engem Raum mit zu vielen Menschen. (Auf der Dachterrasse)

Lovely hotel

Lovely little hotel, very convenient to the old town, city center, Postiguet beach, and the elevator to Santa Barbara castle. Quite a few nice restaurants in easy walking distance along Calle Major. Comfortable bed and a very nice rain shower. Two tips for other travelers. First of all, there is no check-in located within the VIL5 hotel itself. You check in (and handle all other business) at their sister hotel immediately across the street. I don't believe this was communicated in any of the information form Hotels.com. Not a big deal, but a little bit of a surprise. Second, there's a trick to getting the AC to work well. Our first day there, we kept lowering the temperature, but it never went below 23°C. Finally I noticed that there was another button on the thermostat that let you change between fresh air (i.e., the system continually bringing new air into the room from outside) vs recirculating the air in the room. Changing to recirculate made all the difference. The room cooled down very quickly.
