Unfortunately it was not a good stay at what is a lovely hotel. I did let reception know this morning. Room 8 was the hottest hotel room I have ever stayed in- the lady on reception said due to the log burner. I didn’t sleep after midnight as it was boiling. In addition the big shower head started dripping at 4am and didn’t stop for over an hour. I tried everything including putting the shower on and off and placing towels in the shower to prevent the loud noise. Hopefully these issues can be addressed before another customer stays. I managed to prop the window in the room open this morning with a toilet roll to at least let some air in.

Great location and a very short walk into Alderley Edge village. We arrived about 2.15 and were told that our rooms weren’t ready (check in is 3pm) which was fine. Later on we noticed how few guests there were in the hotel so wondered why there was an issue with the rooms not being ready. The first receptionist wasn’t particularly apologetic, but when we returned we were greeted in a much better manner by another member of reception staff. Rooms are nice. Breakfast staff were quite abrupt but overall a nice stay and location was the winning factor.

Lovely hotel, staff are excellent, really friendly and helpful. Only issue was that there is no air conditioning, we were there in the heatwave so it wasn't their fault but the rooms were so hot it was impossible to sleep, the fan in the room didn't really help however, it is a beautiful place, food and drinks are good, rooms are lovely, anytime other than a heatwave it's wonderful and highly recommended.
