Monastery of Alcobaca was one the first Gothic built in Portugal. It currently houses the Tomb of King Pedro I.

The dormitory is a big Gothic room where the monks slept together: only the abbot was allowed to have his own room.

The Alcobaça Monastery is an impressive Medieval Roman Catholic monastery located in the town of Alcobaça. The church and monastery were one of the first Gothic buildings and one of the most important medieval monasteries in Portugal.
