A reminder of a cruel past in our history, the Cheynes Beach Whaling Company was the last whaling company to cease operations in Australia, closing in 1978. Opening in 1980 (known then as Whale World), it is now home to an interactive museum on whales and whaling.

the room and bathroom were large but in dire need of renovation and updating... very basic. All towels were threadbare and discoloured. only one pillow each (old and flat). The bathroom had mould on the glass screen and in the grouting. Sadly in need of a revamp.

Check in is easy and quick. Staff is polite. But the room is a bit old and worn out esp the toilet. Items to be charged in the minibar don’t match the actual items e.g. mineral water, chips on the list but bottled spring water and snack rings were put on the table. I didn’t aware and mistakenly open ...
