Our hosts Sandy and Cathy are just great people. Such good coversations with them during breakfast and we received plenty of pertinent information to help us for our visit around Glasgow and Edinburg.

I use Shawlee a few times whilst I'm working nearby, the owner is friendly and very helpful. I only use Shawlee on a room only basis but I reckon the breakfast is as good as the b&b

Wonderful Hosts

It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The hosts were charming and attentive. It was fun to talk with them and the other guests, and the breakfast (made specially for each guest) was some of the best food I had while in the UK. The bathroom was pretty small, and the shower was one of those stand-alone ones that looks a bit like a box, but the bathroom and room were always very clean. The parking was a bit tight when every spot was full (I had a large rental car), but there was enough space for everyone. There was a cute bakery that is open in the mornings (and only takes cash) across the street as well as a post office and convenience store. The location isn't close to anything major, but it is nicely situated if you have a car and are hoping to travel to different places around Scotland. The wifi was great. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. In particular, I appreciated the wonderful hosts who you could tell truly cared about all their guests and who go out of their way to make everyone's stay enjoyable.

It was a home from home, the food at breakfast was amazing, however we are not used to eating breakfast around a one large table with other guests. The hosts was so friendly and welcoming. They remembered our names which made you feel very welcomed

The Shawlee Cottage is a convenient place to stay when you have a car as it is a short drive to Glasgow and the surrounding areas. The owners Sandy and Cathy make an effort to have a conversation with you around the breakfast table, and they sure do have stories to share. They make your stay very welcoming.

Shawlee Cottage - Give it a try

Had a 3-night stay at Shawlee Cottage 15-18 August. Have been using Sandy & Cathy's B&B in Chapelhall on a regular basis since 2018. The polite & friendly service I received then is still the same today. With on-site, secure parking, Shawlee Cottage is close to local amenities including pubs, restaurants, take-aways, a butchers & bakery, a chemist & a supermarket. It is only a 5-minute drive to the M8 motorway so is very convenient if you're wanting to visit Edinburgh or Glasgow. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Airdrie region, give Shawlee a try. I'm sure you will not be disappointed

Got more than what I paid for.

A small place run by a wonderful elderly couple. As it was a cheap place, I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect. You are greeted with upmost respect and love the moment you walk in, and the love stays with you till the end. The place was very clean and had all the facilities you would expect from a high end B&B. The owners were friendly, they were willing to listen to any problems I encountered (included problems not related to this B&B) and help me overcome them and/or gave me advice on what to do next time if should things happens again. The couple invited B&B guests and their friends for a BBQ during my stay, topped off with a little whisky. Highly recommended for a solo travels.

Shawlee Cottage - Excellent

Just returned home from a 3-night stay at Shawlee Cottage. Have been staying with Sandy & Cathy pretty regularly for the past eighteen months. Each time is the same. Friendly service, rooms exceptionally clean & a hearty freshly made Scottish breakfast. Add on a private car park, a local pub next door & a number of eating houses/take aways within walking distance, Shawlee Cottage is ideally suited for long or short stays.

Great B&B, single room was tight

I was in the area on business and stayed at Shawlee Cottage for 3 nights. Run by a very nice couple and rooms were clean and served up a very nice custom breakfast each day. Internet service was very good. Only issue was that my room had a smallish desk that had a chair that could not be pulled away to comfortably sit at the desk, so my room for a single person was rather small. However, this issue does not diminish the fact that overall, I had a great stay.

Clean, friendly & homely - Shawlee Cottage

Stayed at Shawlee Cottage for 3 night stay 6-9 August. Have stopped with Sandy & Cathy now on & off since April. Each time I can't fault their kind hospitality as nothing seems to be too much trouble. The rooms are clean, the car park is very private & off-road & the breakfast is excellent. You can have the full English or a mix & match. It is midway between Glasgow & Edinburgh so can be used as a base if touring central Scotland. If you want a homely place to stay at more than reasonable rates, give Shawlee Cottage a try.

Lovely B&B

Stayed here during the European Championships. Sandy and Cathy were very welcoming and helpful hosts. The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Excellent accommodation, quality & service.

Shawlee Cottage is a small privately owned guest house on the outskirts of Airdrie. It is located close enough to the newly opened M8 interchange to allow easy access to both Glasgow and EdinburghIt. The building is made up of three old cottages made in to one. The rooms are spotlessly clean and roomy. The beds are comfy and the decor pleasant. There is a large flat screen TV in each room with tea and coffee making facilities. The quality of service is excellent with a hearty full English breakfast being served. There is a private car park to the rear of the property with ample room to park.

A home from home B&B

Cathy and Sandy made our stay at Shawlee Cottage memorable. They were the perfect hosts who attended to our every need. The Cottage was lovely, the room was clean and kept spotless at all times; it had WiFi and a TV, and new towels were supplied each day. Cathy ensured that we left the breakfast table full and ready for the day ahead. Sandy was always willing to draw a map to help with travelling and parking at various locations. By having a single breakfast table it meant we were able to chat with other guests as well as with Sandy and Cathy - which only added to the enjoyment of the stay. The location was ideal for easy travel to most of the main locations - including both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Overall our stay was wonderful.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel

Super Lage, gutes Frühstück, sehr schöne Einrichtung. Tolle große Zimmer mit Wohlfühlatmosphäre, super zentrale Lage und super freundlich Personal, komme regelmäßig hier. Der Aufenthalt war angenehm und entspannend. Das Hotel ist sehr gut geführt.
