We stumbled upon this 700 year old gem hidden in the Frankisher Schweitz not far From Pottenstein, home of Rabenstein Family Barons of Waischenfeld, sacked in Margrave and 30 year wars and rebuilt twice in the 15th and 16th centuries. Like many castles in the area it Belonged to the Bishop of Bamberg as well. The wife and I enjoyed a night in the castle As date night. #matgothunts

The fact that the Castle (Restaurant, Falken Show, and Sophies Cave ) are all closed on Monday is very inconvenient. At least it should made know before booking.
