Beautiful views and staff very accommodateing! Had a wonderful experience at addo elephant park despite early morning rain! Would definitely tecommend you check them out!. Do pay attention to driving directions they send you. We did not and went on a rough road we did not meed to. Google sucks sometimes!

Amazing stay we had. The service, the room, the view, everything is wow. I love the garden, it is so good. The Service, I think, is the best one I've experienced so far. The staff even washed my car when I parked there. WOW Thank you very much, Hitgeheim Country Lodge. I will be back.

The staff here are on a par with global industry leaders. The service is considerate and attentive without harrassment. They are knowledgable, friendly and efficient. The food is fantastic and allows the experience of the culture. Accomodation was superb, views for miles. Cannot rate highly enough (I work in this industry so have experienced many top hotels, this is right up there but also offers excellent value for money)

A great place if you want to be 'off grid' for a bit. Lovely location and accommodation with great wide views. All the staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meals were faultless. We are happy to recommend and hope to return again one day. We would suggest of if you are want to do a trip into Addo Elephant Park with the lodge, that you book in advance. However, we went on the trip with Schotia Game reserve which was very good, which the lodge can organise for you.

Archie Hitge, der Eigentümer ist ausgezeichent und hat viel Emphatie für die Gäste. Wikus als Manger ist auch sehr zu loben.

Unterkunft schön, durch die Hinweise auf der Website auch gut erreichbar. Safari im Addo war problemlos über die Lodge zu buchen, es ist zu empfehlen dass ein paar Tage vor der Ankuft anzumelden. Guter Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Online Angeboten. Der Guide (Soul) war klasse. Einziges Manko: Wir sind am ersten Tag recht spät angekommen und hätten gerne noch etwas gegessen. Das Restaurant ist jedoch nur mit vorheriger Ankündigung offen, Menu muss vorab gebucht werden. Daher mussten wir ohne Essen ins Bett, war aber eher unser Fehler. In der Umgebung gab es keine anderen Restaurants. Nach Anbruch der Dunkelheit wollten wir aber auch garnicht mehr raus.

Super hôtel près d Addo

Très bel hôtel avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée avec des orangers. Les chambres sont hyper spacieuses et cerise sur le gâteau, j ai retrouvé la voiture lavée le lendemain sans avoir rien demandé. Petit déjeuner excellent et personnel très attentionné y compris Archie le patron qui donne de bons conseils

Beautiful place, relaxing with amazing nature around. Rooms are large, comfortable, clean and has it all . Really enjoyed the place and the food. Service was great, no complain..but a bit too much ( for someone who does not like to be king or Queen). and it is at least 30-40 min. Drive to Addo.

A comfortable safari lodge with sweeping views. This place is up on a ridge in a small reserve overlooking the surrounding countryside of fruit trees and mountains in the distance. Our accommodation was in one half of a traditional style lodge cottage with thatched roof and a private balcony overlooking the view. It was spacious, seemed recently refurbished and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was excellent with separate indoor and private outdoor showers and a bathtub. There are a couple of small swimming pools (one adult only). Breakfast was good, and served on a verandah with the same view and dozens of wild birds on feeding tables to watch. It is close enough to drive to Addo comfortably, and the team at Hitgeheim are very keen to organise trips; in my view, Addo itself can be done easily on one’s own if you have an appropriate car; we saw plenty of elephants and zebra and a couple of lions. Schotia is a more ‘safari park’ experience, with a wider variety of wildlife which you can get closer to and an informative guide but a slightly less natural environment. The price for the Schotia transfer felt a bit steep and as it was heavily encouraged should perhaps simply be included in the cost of the trip.
